DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!

I reserved rooms for my daughter’s wedding party, including the newly weds as well. After arriving at the hotel sometime after 10:30 and checking in, to their surprise they had no water. After contacting the front desk and asking what they intended to do they were told there would be no refund or discount to their room cost. The wedding party had 4 rooms booked for 9/17. Having a long day of wedding events, they needed to shower and go to the bathroom, and brush their teeth…it is unconscionable that the hotel staff did not let the guests know there would be no water…. Water is a necessity, a large part of the room rate expectation. UNACCEPTABLE, UNBELIEVABLE AND POOR JUDGEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE COMFORT SUITES FRONT DESK STAFF FOR NOT LETTING THE GENERAL PUBLIC KNOW THERE WAS NO WATER OR NOT GOING TO BE WATER DURING THEIR STAY!! There was no offer to rectify the situation with a discount of the room rate or a total refund of the room rate.

It was late on the evening of 9/17/2022. I had not made a reservation. Kat told me there were no available rooms, but she asked me to wait a few minutes and found one. She was working alone, the phone was ringing, there was a wedding party, and the place was packed. She saw I was exhausted and she went out of her way to accommodate me and she could easily have dismissed me. Thanks Kat! Thanks Comfort Inn Barboursville!

This hotel is such a “crap” show! I checked in and went to my room with my son, only to open the door and find someone already in the room. Went down to the front desk and they apologized, gave me a free upgrade. So, we went back up to the new room only to be in disgust of the filth we found there! There was dog hair everywhere! On the furniture, bed covers and floor. The couch and chair were both filthy, sticky and covered in food crumbs. So, here I go, son in tow, to get another room. This time, we walked into a stale smelling room that half the lights didn’t work in. There was a lady’s earring lying in the chair! But it was clean this time! I do not recommend this hotel!

Simple, but quiet and nice rooms

The front desk manager was very friendly, which made a huge difference after we had spent 8 hours on the road. The room was simple with a clean, spacious bed. Nice and quiet. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of stores and restaurants in the nearby mall. We ate at the IHop around the corner for dinner and then breakfast. Will consider staying here again if we pass through that area again.

Returned after staying last August. Great stay again. Will only stay at this location if we return to Barboursville in 2023. Very clean, full hot breakfast fully stocked, hot and fresh. All employees were so friendly especially Jody at the front desk and Lisa serving breakfast. If they were short staffed like the rest of America is right now, you would never know it by their service and great attitude.
