Discusting septic run down delapadated mess from downstairs to upstairs, top floor for family with small children, no lift shabby decor, filthy everywhere chipped paint work frayed carpets on stairs and landings. Room allocated not as described and seen on photos place needs demolishing.

Absolute disgrace of a property. Nathan on the desk should b ashamed of himself talking to pensioners like pieces of dirt. Refused to help wit bags up 2 flights of stairs for a 77 year old woman who wasn't able. When this was brought up he cancelled the booking. He is in the wring job. Disgraceful disgusting rude clueless. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. U wouldn't treat animals like that. How they're still doing business wit a clown like that working is beyond me -5 stars

Filthy, filthy dirty. Manager Nathan worst possible advocate for Hotel. Attitude ‘you stay you pay’, regardless of issues. He would do well to learn from his Night Porter who was both friendly and helpful.

Absolutely horrified when me and my friends arrived at the Calypso hotel for the weekend. I’ve never met staff as rude in my life and the hotel was absolutely filthy. There’s an Indian restaurant in the hotel so all you can smell is cooking and strong odours which goes right through the rooms making your clothes and everything smell. The rooms are filthy and have never been cleaned and have damp and mould. The shower was leaking right into the bedroom. I cannot stress enough how unhelpful and rude the staff were. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels around the world and this has to be the worst hotel ever.

I would liken this hotel to a hostel , dirty and unclean The staff seam to just hover around ,no sky or Wi-Fi in the rooms . Corridors are dirty and the hallway smells awful . Who ever painted the doors ,shocking No wonder the staff never ask did you enjoy your stay (they know the answer ) The room was dirty , loose taps , items left in draws from previous guests .beyond uncomfortable beds . Should you decide to give it a go take your own pillows , a blanket and a packet of domestic wipes . (You will need them )
