Non a 4 stars hotel for sure (not even 3)

My individual room was one meter wide, it was like being in a ship.. the price of 137 Euros for a night in a supposed 4 stars hotel was ok, but then I found a hotel with a maximum of 2 stars, very old, bad maintended and very crappy The mattress, springs that Hurts!!

Average hotel - friendly staff

We stayed here when we had an exhibition in Cologne. It’s quite close to the train station. My room had his entrance ‘outside’. The room itself was okay, normal space, it was clean, the bed was a queen bed. Next to the room there was a restaurant.. and I guess the air system was the same as in my room.. I could smell the restaurant in my bath room very good and that is not what you are looking for when you want a read stay. Same for the noise. The tram is nearby and it sounds like it’s riding next to your head. Annoying. Staff however was very very friendly and the breakfast was fine.

Disappointing Hotel-No Air Conditioning-Avoid

We have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the last few years, big and small. This hotel was a major disappointment for a 4 star hotel, excluding the fantastic staff. The positives: the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating from the ladies at the reception desk to the cheery lady at breakfast, great water pressure in sink, good WiFi, great location close to restaurants and transportation. The negatives: the property and room are run down looking and in big need of a remodeling, the lighting in our room was horrible and made us feel like we were living in a cave when the sun disappeared, the carpet was stained, the paint on the walls was rough looking, the breakfast is basic but a major step down from what we have received in the 3 star hotels we have been in for the last 2 weeks ( no sweet pastries at all), the room had a patio but the hotel told us not to keep the door open because they have an ant problem, NO AIR CONDITIONING (4 star hotels don’t make their guests sweat.). Bottom line- they say this is a 4 star hotel but we have stayed in 4 star hotels and this doesn’t even come close. 4 star hotels have air conditioning and a higher level of accommodations. We would not stay at this hotel again and we paid about $200/night. This may be worth about $75/night. How stupid were we????

Good rooms if you avoide the street side

Rooms are large and well equipped, everything is in good order. The location is perfect regarding access to public transport, which in Bonn, is just amazingly well layed out, quick, frequent, and cheap. The disadvantage comes with the noise of the trams. Even in the cortyard room one could feel the trembling a little bit. It must be very hard to sleep n the front rooms. There is no aircon but that is secondary if there are no 39 centigrades. The breakfast is excellent.

Nice hotel that was not too expensive. Good business rates if you book in advance. Rooms quite big, sunny. Nice for working. Breakfast healthy. Staff was very polite. I will come back for my next trip in Bonn.
