The WORST Motel of Cartagena

AWFUL HOSTEL!! There is no hot water!! It's a scam, according to them they say that Booking.com does not specify the hot water option. According to what they say, since it is hot here, the water should come out hot and that normally there is no hot water on the coast. I have been in more than 10 hotels in Cartagena and they all have hot water. Even the other hotel they have that is cheaper has hot water… It is impossible to sleep in the room, the noise does not stop all night. Not even wearing earplugs can you sleep. The room is very small, not as seen in the photos. Yet another lie... The staff is not very friendly or good treatment, I guess they are tired of people not stopping complaining about all the false advertising... The air conditioner leaks and the room is moldy. I definitely do not recommend anyone to spend not one night in this hotel.

A strange hotel if I’m honest. Well located and check in was straightforward. My loft room was spacious, albeit I found it a peculiar use of the space. Going to the toilet in the middle of the night and walking along the creaking floorboards wasn’t ideal. The pool area is nice. I wonder why they’ve not made the pool bigger, and I couldn’t get a pool towel for love nor money. Breakfast up there in the mornings is nice, but the food on offer is very basic.

worst costumer service I ever had

At first we were happy about the good price and the look of the lobby, but the room looked older and smaller than the pictures. We were quickly disappointed about a lot of other details that showed one by one until the end of our 3 nights stay. Isn’t a big deal but the wall tapestry was all peeling off and to me it’s an evident sign of negligence (it’s easy to fix!) and a sign that the hotel manager isn’t paying attention to details… Also, there was no space to put our luggage (no table, no bench, not even a simple foldable support, nothing, so we leaves it in the floor and with covid, isn’t the best idea… It got worst when we realized that there was no blanket at ALL (only a thin flat sheet) and no hot water at ALL neither (like no water was running out when it was on hot or warm water). So we immediately asked the reception early the first evening and they just said that there’s NO possibility to have a blanket and that the hot water should be fixed soon… For the blanket, with the hot temperature outside (40 degrees) we had to open the air conditioning at least on like 24 and low fan to be able to sleep but since it was blowing directly on the bed, it was really uncomfortable and cold during night and a blanket was definitely necessary! Me and my wife are traveling a lot and I don’t know any other hotel in the world, with that supposed class/level, that not giving a simple SINGLE blanket or hot water! The next morning, we asked 2 bottles of water on the roof top and asked first if it was free (in English and in Spanish since they don’t understand properly English) and the lady said yes it’s gratis. The day of our departure we told the front desk that we were still having no hot/warmth water and the lady just said sorry and in the top she asked us to pay those 2 bottles of water that were supposed to be free! We don’t really mind paying that but if we had knew that we had to pay, but we already had more than 10 liters of water in the room when we asked and even when we checked out, so we didn’t really need it. Finally, we were mad because they weren’t feeling bad to charge us for water when we didn’t have hot water in the room! We asked to speak with the manager and were told that we had to make a phone appointment! We made it and he called us and said that he had to investigate. He told me that he would call me on WhatsApp after the investigation. However, we didn’t receive a phone call after a couple days, so we texted him (he was online and got our message) but he never answered! We tried calling him since we saw that he was online, but he ignored us. I’m also in hotel management and that’s one of the worst costumer service I ever had. No blanket, no hot water in shower, no response to the client, seriously?

the hotel is located in front of la havana, in getsemani neighborhood, a great location, near restaurants, and bars. it look like brand new, it did open in 2019. breakfast was good. we enjoyed our stay very much

I highly recommend this well-maintained, well-equipped quaint hotel in the heart of the Getsemaní barrio of Cartagena. The staff; the efficient José, helpfulCarlos, and winsome K. were all very professional, and the quality of service was superlative. The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, well-priced, and super clean. I stayed several nights, and even returned here after sojourning to other areas outside Cartagena. I look forward to booking here again during future stays in Cartagena.
