Pleasant stay, hotel was good
Hotels in Cervia are pricey in summer and this seemed to be better value than some others. The room was small for 4 of us, with a double bed and foldaway bunkbeds. It had a large terrace however, larger than the room itself! The staff were very pleasant and spoke good English. The pool was nice and clean but nothing special. The hotel was very clean. Parking was available but the space was very limited for a large SUV.
Clean, neat, nice location, but in season expensive
Lies in a quiet street just a few walking minutes from the beach, the canal and the big shops and supermarket. In season it's rather expensive, but that's typical for the Italian Adriatic coast. I booked at a very short notice. Staff is friendly, the pool is on the other side of the hotel, clean, very quiet and a hidden gem. Rooms are clean, with AC.
OK but not special
We stayed two nights at hotel Miramare, two adults and three children. The hotel is ok, but need some updates. The door knob on our door was hanging loose and we were not able to close the door to the balcony. When we told this to the staff, they said that no one would enter from the outside. It was fixed at our second day in the hotel. The pool area was nice, even though it could also need some improvements. The mosaic in the pool was coming loose and the restrooms were not clean and it looked more like a storage. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from. We did not try any other meal at the hotel. In the evenings we tried to get something to drink in the bar, but that was almost impossible. There was no beer, no wine and in the end we ended up with a bottle of water. Also, in the pool bar there was no one available to make a cocktail. The bath room was very narrow, not convenient when being a big family. My opinion is that this is more of a 3 star hotel, there is nothing extra that you can expect from a 4 star hotel. Instead, you get disappointed.
Uncomfortable beds, woke up to hundereds of ants crawling on the floor
This old well used hotel has seen its day. The rooms were small. The mattress was uncomfortable. The bathroom was tiny and I could hardly turn around in the shower. I had no hot water one morning. The TV on the wall was as small as my laptop. The breakfast was okay. I has a very old tree right in the middle of my balcony. But the big surprise.... I went to sleep and woke up to hundreds of ants crawling on the tile floor. I told the front desk and a little old lady showed up with a spray can of ant repellent. When she saw all the ants she said "No another room for you". She helped my move all my belongings to a another room and I left for the day. The next night I went to sleep and woke up to the ants again. I guess they followed me!!!! Oh yes I forgot, the WiFi does not work in you room only in the lobby area. NOTE: The swimming pool is across the street. It was closed. Not in season - too cold outside in March.
