“Hotel Del Buono” in Tuscany is a real gem! Immersed in the Tuscany countryside with a pool that overlooks the olive trees , it’s truly breathtaking. Its a family run hotel /spa,very professional ,friendly and extremely helpful. Dott.Vanessa is amazing ,my husband and I followed the diet “Mimma Diguino”without any difficulty being coached by Vanessa with enthusiastic professionality ,we had some amazing results in all aspects . The room we had was well equipped with all the essentials . The Spa was so relaxing and uplifting . I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel /Spa .Thank you for making our stay so special and we will certainly return in the near future .
Lovely hotel with great facilities
Had a perfect stay in this hotel that has a surprisingly wonderful spa grotto area as well as a breathtaking swimming pool on the roof. There is also a sauna, steam and massage areas. The people are kind and professional, the gym is well equipped, the cakes are home made and our experience was very nice. The views from the rooftop pool are amazing
Service with a snarl
Hotel Del Buono Centro is a difficult to find non-descript hotel in the middle of Chianciano Terme, within the beautiful Tuscany region of Italy. The trick to finding it, is look at the tiny roadside hotel signs. We were greeted at Hotel Del Buono Centro by the proud hotel owner, who promptly started barking orders at us regarding the car parking, swimming pool and facilities. Note, the spa and sauna facilities are not included with the hotel. These are €20 per person for 2 hours, which seemed quite expensive. No discount was given for hotel guests. We were no allowed to park outside the hotel, but was rather surprised to see other cars parked outside. The room offered was 101, which was directly above the hotel entrance. An alternative was available, but only one of us could view it at a time. At this point I tired of her abrasive comments, and simply gave up. We later spoke with the owner and voiced our disapproval about how we were treated, and she apologised several times. To be fair, the room was spacious and clean. The double bed was very comfortable and the bathroom large. During the daytime you can be greeted by grunting from the gym. However, the biggest issue was the lack of A/C in the room. This meant that the windows always had to be opened, otherwise the room became incredibly hot. The road below was quite busy, so noisy cars and scooters driving past echoed around inside. People smoking outside meant the room filled with smoke. The familes living around were very loud until after midnight. The Jackdaws were very active from 0500. Finally, we got covered in mosquito bites during the evening. Suffice to say, it was not a good night's sleep. Simply because there was no A/C or fan available. The breakfast was dissapointing, there was no fresh fruits or vegetables - apart from fresh orange juice. It was mostly cakes and bread - great if you are a sugary carb junky! I was genuinely surprised by our experience at Hotel Del Buono Centro. The TripAdvisor ratings are generally quite high, which is contrary to our experience. If the owner's customer facing skills aren't great, then don't face customers. The tourist town of Chianciano Terme is rather (non-Italian) tourist unfriendly too. When you consider the larger towns of Montepulciano and Siena are more tourist friendly, it is no surprise that the hotels of Chianciano Terme are empty in summer.
A Pampering and Rejuvenating Experience
This hotel may not seem like much at first however after staying here for a few days I would thoroughly recommend it. I had a fantastic stay with staff that are incredibly helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the spa and Kneipp bath on a daily basis which got rid of some minor aches and pains. The view from the salt pool on the roof is wonderful too. If you are looking for a place to be pampered and to be taken care of this hotel will not disappoint. Highly recommend!!
One of the family
This is offcially a 3 star hotel which consistently gets Trip Advisor ratings the London Dorchester would envy. Why? The del Buono family who own and run it treat their guests as part of their family. The rooms are fairly rudimentary (no air conditioning; basic furnishing; no shaving mirror nor a bathroom plug for an electric shaver) and the Centro Benessere quite meagre (the rooftop swimming pool at 6m x 3m and a depth of just over 1 metre encourages circular swimming. The entrance is understated too: the hotel lays back from the (relatively noisy) main road, is up a fairly steep 40 metre incline and there is next-to-no car parking. Guests are also expected to transfer their luggage to the rooms themselves and understand some basic Italian. However, the welcome (when either mother or daughter turn up - Reception is often unstaffed, but there's a bell) is warm and gracious and the del Buonos go out of their way to satisfy their guests' requests (a manicure/pedicure for my wife was efficiently arranged for the most convenient time). And dinner time is a family spectacle as, following the antipasti buffet, the servers go from table to table with large dishes from which the primo/secondo piatti and dolce (freshly cooked,Italian family cooking at its best) are generously served and second and more helpings encouraged - all washed down by a modest selection of wines, mostly local, all Italian. No wonder Trip Advisors give this place a bonus.
