O bom padrão da rede, num prédio novo mas com algo inusitado...
A rede Hampton é muito boa. Bom atendimento, quarto amplo, cama Boa, travesseiros bons, chuveiro bom e bom café da manhã. Na verdade tudo muito bom. Neste caso, o prédio é novo então tudo está ótimo. Porém, na nossa estadia teve algo inusitado. Nos hospedamos na primeira semana de maio e havia um forte cheiro de esterco na região. Provavelmente das lavouras da região mas o mau cheiro alcançava o Hotel facilmente. Enfim, o Hotel é ótimo mas demos azar com o mau cheiro da região.
Hotel mediano mas que cumpre seu propósito de hotel de passagem. Localizado em cidade pequena, conta com café da manhã simples (no estilo americano), mas eficiente. Muitas vagas de estacionamento; quartos confortáveis. Em resumo, muito eficiente e com bom preço. Vale a pena!
Downtown competition is better
Hotel is clean and fairly modern at first glance, but lacks thoughtfulness. For example, only 1 single-serve packet of regular coffee provided in room for 2 adults. Only 1 mini bar of soap for both sink and shower. One bedside table shared between 2 queens. Window doesn’t open. Exterior building corners are unswept with many cigarette butts. The pool is closed of course, due to covid. Complimentary breakfast also now only consists of small boxed bran cereals, several yogurts, and bananas. It appeared to be getting packed up when we arrived around 8:45am but the lady attending was very kind and helpful and offered coffee. The Hampton is in a very weird location in an outer industrial area. It’s kind of like a nice fenced in compound surrounded by places you don’t want to walk around in. Quiet though. We went for a walk in the large parking lot. Exactly 1 week ago I stayed at a competing chain hotel in downtown Chilliwack, but decided to stay at the further-out Hampton on our return due to homelessness and rampant drug use downtown. However, the other competing hotel was not only more thoughtful (personal welcome note in room including info about covid precautions, more stylish room, Starbucks coffee and nice bathroom amenities) but it was also almost $40/night less expensive. It also had large windows overlooking a pretty downtown park, pond and children’s playground (albeit with unsavoury folk milling about). In retrospect, I would say that the Hampton is best if you favour free hot breakfast and pool (once they’re reopened) over everything else. Otherwise the competition downtown is far superior.
What makes you smile makes us smile.
Interesting words on a carpet and on the wall, as you enter through first door, into the hotel. Reservation we made over phone directly with hotel, was wrong. The hot breakfast Saturday morning, at 9am (1 hour before wrap up) was very very low on stock, chaffing dish empty, bread station close to empty, 3 yogurt to choose from, disappointing for a hot breakfast station. Called front desk, it rang approx 9 times before they picked up, I asked for a extra chair in our room due to company coming, he said I will enquire and will get back to you, well my husband had to call front desk 1 hour later, at which time they sent a chair from breakfast area up right away, why did this take for us to call a second time? I contacted Hampton via twitter, who said management will be contacting us, very soon, well this never happened. Hampton is offering us 15,000 points, not sure what this does to correct all that went wrong with our stay. Is this suppose to make us Smile. LOL. The fridge never worked properly, on low setting, our milk and items in there still froze. Temp control on wall in room did not work properly, on heat it was blowing cold air. It was already windy and cold in Chilliwack all weekend, we wore sweaters in our room all weekend. After being contacted by Customer service, I am guessing is who answers queries via twitter and now following through, I guessed I would be wasting my time contacting management directly, ourselves, at the hotel. If management did not feel it important enough to reachout to us, then why waste my time. This was our first time staying here and likely our last time staying here. I would not recommend this hotel. Because, what makes me smile does not make the smile. Good service, follow through, walking the talk is what makes me smile, this is not the message we got while staying here.

Clean rooms, really good customer service at front desk, gentleman who coordinated the meeting room facility was very professional and accommodating. Ann- Marie did a great job cleaning the room. A bit out of town, need a vehicle to get around.
