Coron Staycation

Well, the area itself is private. Besides the bad signal and small rooms, their pool and food selection was a deal breaker. The staff were courteous and accommodating. The hotel also has dorm type rooms where backpackers can enjoy and relax in. I've stayed here twice already before. They need to offer more transportation to take you around town since the area is secluded from main town proper. Overall, my stays here are on average. Would highly recommend this for backpackers.

Great hotel to relax in Coron

We had a great time in this hotel. The bar pool is a good thing to relax after a tour in Coron. The frontdesk people are educated and very helpful. The pool is really great and has warm water at night. Good to enjoy the moonlight with a cocktail.

The one hotel we splashed out for and was not exactly worth it. Towels where not included. Paid nearly 100$ for bunk beds for 2 nights. Welcome drink was juice that we where nearly charged for and room key didnt work. Really nice pool and friendly staff with nice shared barhrooms

Really a backpacker hotel

I would say this is more of a backpacker hotel than a resort. Don’t set your expectations too high. LisaJayne’s review is quite accurate, so go read that as well. They hit the nail on the head: the hotel has a resort-ey feel but is also very backpackery with high prices. Pros: - The rooms are clean and tidy. - Aircon works great. - Staff and security are very friendly and polite. - Nobody stole anything which one reviewer said happened. I wouldn’t trust just one review on this. - The place is nicely laid out, with a clean pool, great for a relaxing swim in an evening. Cons: - Rooms overlook a messy scrap area. This is fine as it’s a ‘no-frills’ experience, but the cockerels next door WILL keep you awake from 3-5am every single day, almost guaranteed. Even with earplugs in and the aircon on, they were REALLY loud. - The showers are very low pressure with only lukewarm water. - Booming music from the pool area didn’t affect us as we were further away on the upper level, but will affect those on lower levels (see other reviews). - Breakfast and dinner are really poor both in terms of selection and quality. We ended up skipping the free breakfasts and going to find somewhere in town instead. Extras: - Rooms with a pool view are pointless extra cost - bottom one you’ll keep the blinds closed for privacy and the top one has some wooden structure in the way anyway. - There’s a laundry service right across the road for 80 pesos per kg, with a minimum 3kg clothes. - You can hire a scooter right next door for 600 pesos for a day. - Staff at the reception will get you a TukTuk any time you need one. 50 pesos to town, 60 to just outside of town. - Most TukTuk drivers know of “pearl vista hotel” so know how to get you back there in an evening. All in all, this is more of a backpackers hotel. And there are plenty of them around. This is a very budget place dressed up nicely. If you’re a deep sleeper and won’t be woken up easily by loud farm animals, and don’t care so much for nice breakfasts (just something basic to keep you going) then this might be worth it for you.

DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLE THINGS IN YOUR ROOM.

BE CAREFUL! DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLE THINGS IN YOUR ROOM. My suit case locker released when I came back, and changed the password!!!!!(115>151 😱😱😱)I predicted this situation, fortunately I didn’t leave any valuable stuff. Before I check out, the staff promised that after investigating call me back after that day, but I didn’t get any till now(almost passed 1month)
