Excellent hotel and very friendly front desk staff

This hotel is located at a very convenient location which makes it very easy to get back onto the highway….there is also a little shopping plaza right across the hotel where you can find a proper dinner
A complete opposite from last HGI!

We Are loyal diamond customers with Hilton. Just spent a week at the HGI in Riverview/Brandon Florida. We had booked for a night but stayed a week! It was excellent. Booked at this HGI expecting similar experience. What a let down. We entered lobby that was ok and approached desk.
My husband said hello and after an uncomfortable delay the woman (Ivy) without looking up stated “ what can I do for you” in a very uninterested tone! My husband asked if
she had a room for “blank.” Without saying another word she made one card and placed on counter, we asked if we could get a second card. Obviously annoyed she made another card, put on counter and walked to back!!! Not a single pleasant word. Never have been treated so rudely! Later as passing through lobby over heard clerk telling the UPS man that she was tired of dealing with crabby, rude guests! Look in the mirror. Now on to room, it was ok. Large room, beds and bedding comfortable enough and seemed clean. Negative was that the air was off so room was hot and smelt musty! Bathroom looked clean but had pinkish mold growth around part of it! Went down to use pool but as I approached elevator a young man pushing laundry cart appeared also. When elevator opened he immediately entered without a word! Just a thought Customer care and service! I waited for next elevator! The pool area is awful. Dirty and depressing. The floor was very dirty. When you get your feet or shoes wet the dirt is muddy all over. The edges of the pool are scummy. There are holes stabbed in the ceiling. Did not use! Breakfast is not the standard free hot breakfast of Hilton. Not a big deal! Breakfast area is a little dark and dingy. Bottom line is management take note “The desk clerk that checks you in ( in this case Ivy) represents your hotel! Not a good start for a stay. This manager needs to be checked out by Hilton. Guess we need to read reviews closer.

We arrived at the hotel around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, 9-7-21. We had checked in online but still needed a key card to get into our room. We walked up to the front desk, before we could utter a sound, the woman who was working at the front desk yelled at us, “What do you want!?”. We were so shocked. My husband explained we had already checked in online and just needed a key card to access our room. She asked for a name, looked it up, then pushed the card towards us. We’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times while traveling through multiple times a year. This is the first time we’ve ever experienced this type of thing from an employee there or at any other hotel we’ve stayed at. As for the room, it was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel, the beds & pillows were comfortable, the only negative was someone had turned the a/c off, so the room was a tad musty. Going back to the employee’s behavior, maybe she was having a bad day.

Excellent staff from front desk restaurant, housekeeping, restaurant. Very nice rooms. Best HGI I’ve stayed in for quite sometime. They tried and fixed every request we made. Breakfast was great under COVID conditions.

Easy on and off from I-10. Husband was very excited to finally be able to park in Hilton Diamond member parking! Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted. Entered our hotel room and right away we noticed a maintenance issue that I was not comfortable with. Proceed to the front desk and explained the situation. She was very apologetic and said that’s not right, moved us to another suite. The suite was spacious, felt like they did some updating but still needs a little work. It had a smelly odor and no bathroom fan. Got extremely hot in the entire room after each shower. Quite hotel close to restaurants and a Starbucks. On-site there is an indoor pool, fitness center and a restaurant. I might give this hotel another chance simply due to the fact on how nice and accommodating the staff was!
