Don’t be late!

Avaliou em 20 de novembro de 2022

This is my second time staying at this hotel. This time was an awful experience. The gentleman at the front desk I dealt with was rude and unaccommodating on Nov 19 around 9 pm. I am hoping this wasn’t because I was a young female guest? I originally requested a virtual check in which it indicated I could do in my confirmation email. This wasn’t done because I was told they won’t do this for any discounted rate only full price. I was late to check in and received multiple emails from the property even though I emailed them back the first time. I found them to be very intrusive as to why I was late checking in at the front desk when I did arrive. They went so far as to tell me my personal whereabouts during my stay is their business. I was paying for my room, but they admitted they were trying to rebook the room to make double profit. I felt like I was being harassed even though I was a paying customer. If you want to stay here make sure your plans are set in stone and you are on time to check in, if not it won’t be a pleasant experience. The hotel itself and rooms are very nice and the woman I spoke with to check out Nov 20th am was very pleasant, but by this point my stay was already ruined. There are other nice options nearby and frankly it wasn’t worth the stress I endured from them over my plans getting delayed. My stay was ruined by poor customer service and I did not feel I got any respect as a paying customer. Not good Marriott you can do better!

What a great location and a great hotel

The people at this hotel are so friendly, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The suite we stayed in was fantastic, we had a full kitchen that included dishes and cutlery dish towels, you name it it was there. The location to Dartmouth crossing is amazing. we were in walking distance to so many places. We really enjoyed out stay here and we will be back.

Close to Shopping and Nature

This was our second time visiting this hotel. It is beautiful and quiet, while located next to shopping and an amazing park. We went to Shubie Park and kayaked and we went swimming at the beach. There is also a dog beach at the other end of the park. It is great staying here because you have a full kitchen and there are lots of restaurants in walking distance. The only negative this year was our room windows looked on a brick wall and an AC fan. I was a bit disappointed as we are Marriott Bonvoy members and have stayed at other Residence Inns this year. Overall, it was fine though as we weren’t in the room much.

Good value hotel for families, lots of amenities nearby, 20-25 minutes from Downtown Halifax

We got a king suite that came with a King bed in a separate bedroom, sofa bed in the living room, and a full kitchen. We have 2 adults and 2 kids 10 and under. The room was spacious, the washroom was spacious, the kitchen was tight, but had two bar stools, full cutlery, a stove top, microwave, small dishwasher and medium size fridge with freezer. It served our purpose quite well. The hotel appears to be newer (or recently renovated). The heating/cooling was easy to use. The pool was quite cold - about as cold as the ocean, which was unfortunate - the jump in and get it over with quickly option worked the best. It is a shallow pool all the way. The hot tub was nice, but on the weekend got crowded quickly at night. The children who used the water slide had red backs from something that was irritating their backs on the way down, so our kids did not go on the water slide. The fitness centre is well done with a universal gym set that reaches the level of an actual gym. There are weights, kettle balls and lots of cardio options. It was one of the better hotel gyms I have ever seen. Wifi worked fine, though we did not stream anything. Parking was free and plentiful. The breakfast was not great quality, but was free with our reservation. Breakfast was 7-9am, or 9:30am on weekends. Scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage on alternating days plus turkey sausages/hash browns on alternating days. The buffet area was cramped. Other selections included boiled eggs, soft tortilla shells, cheeses, breads (no muffins or croissants), hot oatmeal, some cereal and a waffle station. There was a lack of fresh fruit though. sometimes cut melon was left in a plate, but not much and it didn't last long. Sometimes bananas or apples were left out, but again, not much and it didn't last long. Same with yogurt - not consistently out there. The staff were all nice. The front desk is super responsive. We needed towels and extra blankets and they were delivered literally as we put the phone down on the receiver - I have not experienced such speed before. We were about a 20-25 minute drive into Downtown Halifax. About 20 minutes from the airport. To get downtown, there is a $1.25 toll each way. Parking was $7 - $18 downtown Halifax. The hotel has a Tim Hortons across the street, which we started using as the tea/coffee in the buffet is not very good. Tons of eating options nearby. Walmart is close. The shops at Dartmouth Crossing are very handy and there is an outdoor playground for the kids there. Shubie Beach is close by - 15 minute walk on a path, or 10 minute drive (you have to drive around Lake Micmac). A very small beach that gets crowded quickly, but a nice option if you need to kill a few hours. All in all, this hotel was a great price for us (compared to downtown Halifax), lots of services around, a reasonable drive to the airport and to downtown Halifax and good customer service from the front desk.

Great stay!

Standard Residence Inn stay, but they're always a great spot. This newer hotel is located near Dartmouth Crossing and has lots of free parking. Plentiful hot breakfast included in room charge. Pool also has a water slide! Would definitely stay again.
