Unfortunately- Runs out of hot water
Avaliou em 14 de Outubro de 2021
I’d love to give the Riverhouse a better review as it has some unique touches you don’t find often, but it also has a major problem . It runs out of hot water regularly !
My wife loves a hot bath at night, but there was no hot water - not even luke warm! She called the desk and was told the room is “on a grid with other rooms and maybe someone took a long shower, and to wait a 1/2 hour. She did, but no hot water for over an hour!
The next night I had the same problem attempting a shower so I waited till morning. In the morning at 7:00 there was no hot water-but by 8:00am there was. So over 2 nights we experienced no hot water 3 times and the hotel wasn’t even fully booked !
The location is great and the river view rooms are good sized and the balconies are an extra touch. They have a small free guest laundry and extras like windshield squeegees and paper towels to clean your car windshield.
Be warned you clearly hear all footsteps and even squeaky doors from anyone above, and water running from rooms next door, so trying to sleep in is hard.
I wish I could say We’d stay again, but the hot water problem 3 times makes it an easy NO.
Bird Life from Our 2nd Floor Balconey

Sitting outside watching the Siuslaw flow by. So relaxing as birds fly about or sit on the old dock posts as one heron did for hours, preening away as an otter swims close by. Lovely room. Nice comfy bed. We brought b'fast snacks in to have w/ coffee. A whole Oregon blueberry pie from the Sugar Shack in Reedsport ( as we passed thru from the Willamette V. We ate out. Either in OldTown Florence or up 101 in Yachats. RiverHouseInn was a marvelous suggestion from friends in Corvallis who'd stayed here more than once. We will be back (a promise, not a threat, ha ha). People are friendly and helpful at the Inn and town. Loved having a thrift store just across the street. The moon rising over the trees across the river was awesome and also the dunes, the bridge and crabbers gathering their catch.
Love this river view!

I really enjoy this place. I've stayed here several times and always look forward to going back. I thought I could only enjoy an ocean view, but The River House Inn has turned me into a river lover too. Sitting out on the balcony is so relaxing. And, I just love hotels that are an easy walk to bars, restaurants and shopping.
Prior to Covid River House used to have a great free breakfast. Now they don't have anything except coffee in the room. The shocking thing to me was there was no place in old town to get breakfast, we had to take a short drive. I hope, one of these days, the complimentary breakfast returns. Staff has always been great.
GREAT VIEW AND LOCATION

The rooms could use an update and the noise of trucks going over the bridge is fairly loud. The room is well equipped, just older. Staff is great. The better restaurants in the area are closed Monday through Wednesday so dinning is difficult (Not enough staff). No elevator to second floor but easy walk up.
Gorgeous views, close to great food

My partner and I stayed here for one night on our west coast road trip, and we had a really great time. The view of the river from the back balcony is spectacular. We opened some wine and watched the sun go down—really special. Then, we walked next door to Waterfront Depot, where we had a fantastic dinner, on par with any we've had in home base of NYC. I'll also say that we loved Florence, itself. Hiking around the beaches / forests / dunes was magic.
The room itself was very normal, totally satisfactory for a stop along the way. We didn't have any issues with the bed being too hard or with noise. The wifi was pretty good, too—I was able to take a last-minute Zoom meeting from the room in the morning.
