Far from Marriott brand standards

I am loyal Marriott brand traveler, because it usually has consistent good standards. This property does not live up to the Marriott brand. Had a 6 night stay here, but checked out after first night. Hard to locate front desk clerk for checkin and Hard to locate him subsequent times, then he did not seem to want to be bothered with anything; did not give basic hotel info. Room very outdated. Sofabed mattress extremely flimsy and uncomfortable. Entire hotel smells smokey, which I am sensitive to, Utilized hotel “chat” to cancel remaining nights, never got a response. Had to call worldwide reservation number to do so. Hotel manager did approach me to apologize and offer remuneration,

I stayed for 3 nights and they did have a nice free breakfast that was a very welcome change for motels now days (they usually advertise one and give you a granola bar). The pool was open and the staff mostly helpful. The place is showing it's age some and the carpet esspecailly on the stair was pretty worn out. They didn't pay attention to the request that we have on our Marriott account because we need a bottom floor or close to the elevator because my wife doesn't get around well and I am legally disabled and my room was 100 yards down the hall from the elevator on the second floor. I would stay there again but hope to get a room closer to my request.

We have stayed at this location many times. The front desk are always a pleasure. The cleaning team is helpful and friendly. It's nice to have a full size refrigerator to put beverages etc in. We'll look forward to returning.

I have a simple grading system. 5 is when everything is perfection. Maybe q in 20 make it. A 4 is everything is well above average. Maybe 3 in 20 make that grade. Easily 14 of 20 make an average stay. That leaves 2 for a 1 or 2 rating. We ll it is a two for lieing about a pool and spa. Leaving on the web site you have these amenities and then to get to the property and be told they do not work for the last three months is false advertising. If I had it in me to search for a different hotel we would have. We were told we could go to a sister property down the road to swim. I wanted my money back.
No pool, poor internet

I'm here on a three month assignment. Internet kicks me out daily. Pool isn't open despite the website saying nothing about it. Room service doesn't exist despite me setting one day per week for service on check in. I had to request service personally every 8th day because it was never scheduled. The positive is that M-W there is a mixer in the lobby with free appetizers and drinks. Staff is accommodating.
