Great Hotel, just beware of bedbugs

The new name of this hotel is Garrigae Cap Coz. Hotel location is great. Staff is very nice. They were very quick to respond to my needs when I showed up at reception one morning asking for bedsheets change because some insect had bitten me BIG TIME... hotel admits dogs which is ok as long as they are extra vigilant with cleaning... unfortunately I don’t think It is the case here.

This hotel is simply just perfect. The staff, the location, the food. We have stayed at this hotel for the past 5 years, we cannot find another hotel that can beat this location. Hope you return next year!!

Charming hotel in first row of an intimate beach

I traveled solo, I received an excellent treatment by staff. Small but nice room, I loved the location on the front line of a small beach. The hotel also had SPA, restaurant and parking, but I did not use them.

modern changes

I have visited the Mona Liza now known as Hotel Garrigae many times over the past 12 years, by myself and with companions. The hotel started 'improvements' last year while I was staying there. The decor and carpets were updated, but it was basically the same hotel. This year a spa is being added, the restaurant and bar have been reduced in space to make room for it. I miss the old comfortable Mona Lisa, because the Hotel Garrigae is not comfortable. Wire chairs and stools in the bar, nowhere to sit and read on a rainy day, my room was adequate but lacked storage room, it overlooked a skip at the back, normally I have had a front room with my booking with Brittany Ferries. The food in the Restaurant is not good, same menu every night and unexceptional. The staff were OK but miss the warmth and kindness of Nadine. Possible the Hotel is trying the attract the younger set, but is Cap Coz the place? Sadly, because the place holds sentimental memories for me , I shall not be returning.

Many changes including name, now Garrigae

We have stayed at this hotel over many years. This year has seen new owners and extensive changes within the building and the name of the hotel has changed from Mona Lisa to Garrigae. We stayed for 10 days and despite terrible weather, rain each day and max 14 degrees, we left having enjoyed a wonderful stay, the staff were just brilliant. The hotel itself is still undergoing changes, the old Bar area now being part of a Spa which I understand is due for completion in about 4 weeks. The bad weather highlighted a couple of changes which were not to our liking. The Lounge area was fitted out with strange chairs with iron bar construction and were about 9 inches off the ground. Very uncomfortable. Normally in good weather these chairs are irrelevant as there is a wonderful area outside overlooking the beach with comfortable chairs and good tables. We stayed in one of the front bedrooms with balcony. These rooms are small but the balcony/terrace is brilliant. Room improvements include excellent free WiFi and connections for phone and computer fitted in the headboard. Storage room has been changed and is not as good as before. We left the hotel very happy customers, the staff were excellent from top to bottom and we are looking forward to our next visit.
