Clean Rooms, Kind Staff & Centrally Located near BSU

This is my "go to" hotel for visiting my daughter at BSU. The rooms are clean, good sized, have small kitchenettes and have a comfortable workspace area, too. Having a coffee maker in the room is important to me, and they are generous with the coffee packages for us "caffeine addicts"! :) The service I have received at this Marriott property has always been good: smiles, welcome greetings, resolve any issues quickly & efficiently. It is easy to get to Boise State U, as well downtown. In Spring & Summer the walking path is fantastic & we love that Bogus Basin not too far away in the Winter. The AM breakfast & outdoor grills are just added perks to make the stay even easier!

Solid, but get rid of Fox News please

Have stayed here many times and it is always solid. The construction makes it so you can hear people walking overhead like a cheap apartment, but it’s always a solid stay and the people who work there are terrific. One request: Kill the Fox News at the breakfast bar. It’s seriously aggressive propaganda designed to scare the bejeezus out of Boomers in the moments they tear themselves away from Facebook. I’ll book here one more time, but seriously, if Fox is playing again, it will be my last stop. If people running the place think that trash is ok, I don’t want to know what else might be permissible.

500 Miles Later

There is a reason I waited 500 miles and a whole day to review. Ugh...so frustrated with this place. Started when I went to check in and was told “I had already checked in and out”...Whaaat? Don’t think so, unless I had an out of body experience. A phone call to someone up the chain got that fixed and we went to the room- liked the location as I requested 1st floor for service dog - Thanks so much. Problem was warm room...AC fan only ran at one speed slow... Call to desk & immediate response in person but he could not fix. Other problems- no hair dryer, and a refrigerator that leaked puddles of water out the bottom and sang to us in a loud mechanical rumble all night. Shower head sprayed to side instead of on one’s body resulting in water all over toilet & floor. Yes shower curtain was used ; we aren’t that dumb! Place is 10 years old with dowdy decor. What’s with the closet with a front and back door? One does not generally feel a need to go from kitchen to the bathroom via a tiny dark closet. I could see it might be helpful if one had a weak bladder, but luckily, I do not suffer that malady. It is definitely time to remodel & spruce the old place up. The only redeeming factor here is the nice, helpful college kids running it. Give them a raise and buy a new refrigerator.

Room was clean. Had a room next to me the first night lots of giggling and a barking dog til about 2 am. Second slept peaceful. Forgot that this location has walk through closet. Shower curtain was a little short. They are offering bagged breakfast. Mattress a little firm, but not bad. Close to BSU campus and Ann Morrison Park. About 1 mile to downtown.

Fell short of expectations for the brand

Spent one night here on a road trip and found it lacking compared to other places we stopped on the trip. Mask use and social distancing was inconsistent for both staff and guests. Our room felt ok, but the trash in the hallways made us concerned about general sanitation. Room had plenty of space, but poor insulation from exterior and interior noise. It's a nice location walkable to restaurants, breweries, and downtown, but would definitely choose to stay elsewhere if I'm passing through again.
