I really like this place.

This was my first time to stay at a Microtel Inn and Suites. But it will not be the last. And this is now my new number one spot in Geneva. The price is not too excessive, it is on the convenient commercial strip however, so if you’re looking for the bucolic charms of the Finger Lakes or the historical buildings of the town of Geneva, they are five minutes away. As a place to stay the Microtel met all my needs. And I will say it was exceptionally clean. And once I noticed how clean everything was I began looking for dirt. I didn’t find any. Not in the hallway, not in the elevator, not in the lobby. Not in the public restroom. The two staff members whom I met (the night person and the day person), were really helpful, really chipper, and made everything very easy. I had a king suite which is essentially a large room with a partition, a large comfortable bed, desk and work area, television and a living room area with a pull out sofa and a kitchen bar. The kitchen bar is fairly high maybe 4 1/2 feet from the floor, higher than your usual kitchen countertop, but it accommodates the microwave and the refrigerator underneath and actually it’s very convenient to sit on the provided bar stools. Bathroom of course was spotless, the mirror gigantic and very unforgiving, and the heating and air-conditioning system was really easy to use and really did what I needed which was to keep the room cool enough. Yes, I like a cold room in the winter. And I have noticed over the decades of staying in hotels that just because you set a thermostat does not mean it’s actually going to respond. This one was quick, it was efficient and it was quiet. Cleverly enough, it is the kind of heating cooling unit that sticks in to the room under a window ledge; but the hotel has designed a window seat over this unit which disguises it and is also reasonably comfortable if you want to take a nap in your window. (Also, pet friendly hotel and if I had brought my cat it would have napped on the window seat.) So yes, there are gorgeous, lakeside hotels in Geneva, but if you do not want to spend a huge amount of money and if you can live with only modest luxury, I would say this is surely luxurious enough to be quite comfortable and it is where I will plan to stay when I am in Geneva in the future. My son goes to Hobart College and so I have a few years to look forward to spending occasional weekends in Geneva.

Room not cleaned.

After we checked in we found food in fridge from past guest. Room was not cleaned while we were there. We specifically made sure that we did not leave the "do not disturb" sign on the door; however, we never got room service during our 2 night stay and had to pick up our own towels and shampoo. We saw posts online for cheaper room rates after we checked in.

Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is decent and breakfast area is very clean. I would definitely go back. The only thing I found wrong was the walls were not very sound proof. You could hear people in the next room talking . That was not worth taking a star from my review.

This hotel is incredibly clean and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. We had a wedding block reserved and that was handled magnificently. Every guest received a welcome bag that we left for the front desk to give out and every guest received one...the staff is really competent/

Clean, Cost-Effective, Convenient

The hotel was very clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was standard but free. I highly recommend this hotel for a quick getaway stay. It’s close to downtown, the lake, stores, bars, and several vineyards.
