Hotel with a View

We had a wonderful night last night at the hotel. The decor is beautiful and the ladies who checked us in were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable with am amazing view of the Bay of Biscay. The bed was big and comfy. Breakfast was one of the best I have had while traveling around Europe. Lots of choices plus the option to have eggs and crepes made fresh for you. It is conveniently located near some of the coastal villages and only 20 minutes from San Sebastian. We will definitely stay there again when we have the chance.

I loved this place! I cannot image a better place to stay if you visit this part of the country. The staff (owners) are very nice and very helpful. The location could not be better (if you have a car and like the countryside). Our room was very nice although a bit crowded since we were three people sharing a room for two. Worked out fine. We loved the cosy corner with the bar offering good wines, beers etc and some food. We bought cheese, sausages, olives etc at the local markets and brought back for lovely evening snacks on the terrace overlooking the wineyards and the sea.. We spent four nights here, visiting San Sebastian and other places during our stay, but Getaria got the biggest part of our hearts. Getaria is a small town with plenty of good restaurants, the Balanciago museum, two nice beaches. We picked figs, walnuts and other fruits on our walk down to the town (abt 20 minutes)... I would love to come back!

A Gem of a Hotel

Only stayed here for one night whilst driving up into France. A family run hotel that is modern but welcoming. Situated up a small road overlooking Getaria and the sea, the views are amazing. The rooms are spacious & the beds and pillows so comfortable. The rooms have a ceiling fan which made a pleasant change from air conditioning. We had a balcony with seating and there is a outside terrace too. They have an ‘honesty bar’ where you just leave a note of what you’ve had with a good selection of wines and also craft beer. Use of the kitchen is also there if wanted. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Just wish we could have stayed longer!!

Add a little luxury to your Camino del Norte by staying at Hotel San Prudentzio for a night. Surrounded by the txakoli vineyards of Getaria, the views are to die for. Our room was adequate for our needs. Rather than walking down to Getaria for dinner we made good use of the the self sevice kitchen in the hotel. An excellent idea for those wanting to eat in and taste some of the finest delicacies the region has to offer.....including wines. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place to stay

The minute we walked in and were greeted at the reception desk by Marina, we knew we were in for a real treat. The recently renovated hotel is elegant, comfortable, spacious and immaculate. The entire staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and hospitable. We thoroughly appreciated the amazing breakfasts which included Spanish omelettes and divine pastries; some which were baked by Marina. The self service kitchen at dinner time was especially convenient if you were just too tired to venture out again to eat. The tomato salad, homemade potato chips, and tzacoli (wine from the vineyard on the hotel property) were just of the few especially divine options. Would love to return sometime soon! Thanks
