terrible excuse for a hotel

Booked for 2 nights only stayed the one as it was so bad. On arriving you have to book in at the bar of the pub which is not ideal as they were more interested in serving the locals their pints. Room was basic, no hot water in the bathroom, hot tap did not even work, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, dirty tissue behind the door in the bathroom, very noisy from the main road outside and the bar below, beds were terrible, no breakfast other than a bowl of cornflakes, no tea or coffee or toast available. Overall very bad experience to be honest and definitely will not be going back. The only good thing about it was the Balmoral chicken in the restaurant.

Please don’t let the bad reviews by you off this place. Yes it is a pub but it clearly states this when booking. People who are complaining about this clearly didn’t read the info properly. Entrance is through the pub and this didn’t bother us as we was out most of the day and was not home til late at night. It was very loud of a weekend but if you are out late this wouldn’t be a problem. Breakfast was lovely, just plain and simple cereal, yogurts, fruit and toast. Choice of tea, coffee and juice. You do have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. It is a bit out the way of the city centre but there is a bus stop which takes you straight to the city centre with in 10/15 mins. Would highly recommend this place. Room are spacious and very clean. Absolutely awful experience entrance to rooms is through pub this is the stupid reception area the owner does not live in and does not care people standing at bar swearing foul mouths all of them.it was awful also if ther is kids staying this is terrible behaviour kids also need to enter bar pub to get to rooms with parents shocking we will send report to licencing also as we work for licencing in Preston and trading standards this is unacceptable also breakfast was cereal with no milk we just left with no breakfast what we paid for breakfast was included in cost but this was breakfast no proper cooked breakfast just bad manners all round we have seen previous reviews no replies from owner this does not surprise us at all only interest is money no respect for guests at all its awful to think no private entrance to rooms nosey no privacy at all need to also leave by bar to get out of place its just so rude

Was at a family party. Older lady was rude, grabbing drinks and food from tables when they wernt finished. Gave a 4 minute warning for last orders but after 1 minute she closed the bar. Rude is an understatement.

Unable to gain access to suite to attend wedding function. There is no access for disabled people not able to climb stairs,when staff asked if there was a ramp or lift they quoted " no we do not have any disabled access facilities and there was nothing they could do about it. They had a couldn't give a monkeys attitude and showed no signs of being willing to assist. I will be contacting the appropriate authorities regarding this as l thought it is a requirement to facilitate access for disabled persons.
