Safety and Security Concerns

Avaliou em 16 de março de 2023

We stayed at this Marriott location for four nights, it is a good location for Spring Training. Easy acess to restaurants and other entertainment. We were headed back from Sedona as there was a huge snowstorm on its way. Checked in and they gave us room 130, do not stay in this room. It was by the back entry door near the poolside parking lot. Everyone that entered slammed the door, first night noticed a gentleman sitting in car, thought maybe it was a driver. We had left our room multiple times during the day and night and he was always there sitting in his car, the next day a woman and man entered the car and left, they returned and woman appears to be staying there, the other man went to a truck parked there. The gentleman was in a blue hyundai and just sat there in his car all the time, it was very unsettling as he parked in the back right by the bedroom window. Also at times he would turn up his music rather loud at random times. People would leave and enter at all times of the night, which is fine but some were rather loud at the early am times, practically yelling. Not very good sleep while we were here. The bathroom was rather small and the door was right by the toilet, which was awkward getting in and out of. Large room, carpet was torn and looked dirty, there was food on the kitchen chairs when we got there. Staff that worked there all seemed nice. Pool and hot tub looked a little dirty, didnt use. There is also a firepit by the pool area. There was dog poop in the back area by the rocks, had two parking spots there. They also do late night racing on the freeway and at night it was rather loud. I read another review on here from 2020 so apparently same issues are happening. Would not stay here again as we did not feel safe.

breakfast is great

We enjoyed our stay. Room was sizeable- slightly noisy (we had an end room and would hear the clamor of the outside door repeatedly through the night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Great service and comfortable bed

Avaliou em 30 de setembro de 2022

I always measure a hotel room by the quality of sleep first and foremost. The bed in the room was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. There was a little light leaking around the curtains in the bedroom but I put a couple of pillows against the curtain on the floor and the problem was solved. When we checked into the hotel, the room we were given reeked of smoke. I went down to the front desk and since they were sold out she put us in the Presidential suite. Not as fancy as it sounds, but I am a Titanium member and she was very accommodating. The room had a bedroom and a separate living room area with a nice kitchen and a huge meeting table. The only complaint on the room is the bathroom. The door does not close. It is off kilter and you can not shut it the whole way. There was also some wall paper in the room that was slightly peeling. And finally, I don't know if this is a Residence Inn or a Phoenix area or specific to this hotel, but the hot water in the shower could not get about 85 degrees. It made for moderately uncomfortable showers. The bathroom faucet could get full on hot, so it wasn't an issue with no hot water available. The location is a great location. Restaurant and the Glendale entertainment complex are across the street. The breakfast in the morning was a typical Marriott breakfast. All in all, would stay hear again.

For my loyalty to Marriott I get Terresa and no help when I needed them the most

Avaliou em 1 de setembro de 2022

I will preface this by saying I am Titanium Elite for Life and travel frequently for business. I have reminded loyal to Marriott but it is stays like this that confirm, I need to change my loyalty. I have never really cared that much about upgrades as long as I have a clean comfortable room when traveling for business. However, the one time I needed Marriott and the benefits that they say I am entitled to, they did not come through. My A/C unit went out at home and in the heat of AZ, I needed to stay at a hotel until it could be fixed. So I booked this Residence Inn in Glendale by Westgate knowing they had two bedroom rooms available because I needed to work in the morning and needed the extra room for family members. So I chatted with Terresa who was working the front desk who confirmed they had a two bedroom available but claimed she was only allowed to upgrade one level. I said I would use a suite certificate or whatever it takes because I really needed the two bedroom and it was just for one night and I was checking in late so the room was available and no one would be renting it for the night. She refused to help me and I did not get that upgrade. Again, I have never asked before and never needed it so badly before so the one time I really needed Marriott when my loyalty and their honoring that loyalty would have meant the most to me, they did not come through. The two bedroom went unoccupied for the night. Also, Terresa was not very friendly and did not really acknowledge my status when checking in. In fact, when I came to check in, I had to wait about 5 minutes as she was not at the desk. We often take stay at home vacations near Westgate and with so many other options around this area, I would never stay here again and you shouldn't either. Plenty of other options. I stayed at a Hilton one time and was treated like gold and I do not have the same level of status with Hilton. This hotel and the people that work here make it unwelcoming and unworthy of your time and money.

Filthy place

Avaliou em 1 de maio de 2021

Filthy rooms, filthy common areas. Had chicken wing bones under bed and mgmt told me to leave room for 1 hr would fix. Said all fixed there was still chicken bones on floor. Then said housekeeping not in and apparently no one willing to clean now that's working?? Unable to give me gen mgr name or # not allowed? Don't stay here!!! You'll regret it. Dirty and no recourse. I'm a Marriot bonvoy member 30+ nights a year and I had to check out and find another hotel.
