The stay was ok!

Avaliou em 30 de maio de 2022

The stay was ok! It was economical for when you just need a place to rest after a day of fun adventures. The towels had hairs and just felt dirty. Sadly not the best experience, great view but definitely dissatisfied. When I looked at their website it said they had breakfast which is what I was looking for, one less meal to worry about. We asked the clerk the night before what time breakfast was ready and he said they didn’t serve breakfast, that they only served coffee. The next morning after 7:30 am there was NO coffee ready, I asked the clerk if there was coffee and he said he was too busy to make more and he would make some more. I went back to my room to get ready. Came back out (20 minutes later) and no sign of the clerk and no sign of coffee being made.

Major changes since our first review 10 years ago.

Avaliou em 22 de fevereiro de 2022

Below you will find a "Glowing" review that I wrote 10 years ago, HOWEVER a LOT has changed in ten years, in short, NONE of the previously offered "Package Deals" exist, the room rate obviously has gone up, no more hot tub AND NO MORE Biscuits and gravy !!!!!! :-( The room is simple and perfectly fine for a night or three while visiting the area, BUT the added perks are what made us come back year after year after year ..... well NOT anymore, the place has not just gone down hill, but has taken a major nose dive from ten years ago when we raved about the great deals here. We got to town about just after noon and pushing 1 pm and were advised we would be charged for an early check in IF we wanted to check in then ..... I had NEVER even heard of a charge for early check in AND I travel a LOT !!!! .... Well they did waive the early check in fee, but the toilet in our room required daily plunging, which is not a complaint, but maybe Roto rooter should be called for the whole system. either way, THIS place was once a great little spot, but it seems that we will have to find a new favorite motel / hotel when we come back to Glenwood. TEN YEARS AGO ************************************** Great Package Deal !! Review of Affordable Inns Reviewed July 7, 2012 IF you are reading this, (and clearly you are), YOU are smart enough to not want to pay hundreds of dollars a night for a room, so here is the deal, No Valet, No Bell Hops, but IF you need that stuff you should just move onto a different Motel anyway, but IF you want a great deal on a weekend get away, you have found the place. My Wife and I have stayed all over Colorado and the country, and have have ALL of the amenities, but we love this deal. Two nights (Friday & Saturday), Two Prime Rib Dinners (or whatever lesser meal you want ;-), Two all day passes to the Glenwood Hot Springs, free Continental breakfasts each morning with great pastries and delicious Biscuits and Gravy, for $169.00. Note: the dinners, passes and breakfasts alone are probably worth over $80.00, so the nightly room rate is a ridiculously low $45 to $50 per night. The room we had came with a King Size Bed, with a great view of the mountains, not the best room we have ever had, but certainly not bad at all. We have never been here before, but I think we found our new Western Colorado get away as we will be back !!! (Oh by the way you can also get a white water rafting package too, which we may do next time :-)

The lobby entrance and carpet was dark and filthy. The front desk person was short and rude. My room was facing a wall with a filthy window and trash strewn outside of it. The carpet to my room was old spotted and full of dog hairs. The outside common area was horrible. Flower pots with dead flowers and cigarette butts. May be affordable, but rather sleep in my car. Plain nasty.

The Affordable Inn does the normal overnight transient stays and, in addition, has a long-term program where guests stay a week or a month. Some guests have been here for years. Some of the reviews are on the low side, and they seem to be from the transient crowd. To them, the Affordable is often the lowest-priced motel in town. It has a twenty-four-hour desk, but has discontinued both the hot tub and the breakfast since epidemic started. For those looking for a fortress for the epidemic, it's good. You can do your own housekeeping, and only have groceries dropped at your door, i.e. taking out trash is the only reason to leave the room. The management is new but non-intrusive, e.g. they don't find lots of reasons to get into your room or have you move your car and such. The phone system is dated, and there is no free long distance included, i.e. landline of local calls only - not even 800 numbers... Free internet is patchy, but cable has HBO and the NFL channel. Your stay is made easy by the free faxes and message service. You can have them sign for packages and receive your mail. I use Skype for local calls. For those without autos, there is a local bus that stops on the block one way or a couple of blocks away the other. Coffee is free at the desk 24 hours. Free local papers are there also. The bus service is inexpensive, free to those over 65 or so. It is virtually door to door to the supermarket. It runs to Rifle and Aspen as well. They are very dog friendly and many of the long-term guests are dog owners.

I was put into a smelly room on the back of hotel. The carpet in the hall was filthy. I was terrified by the people sitting outside. I asked to move but I was fold that because I am corporate I cannot stay in the front rooms. So does this mean they consider me trash? I left and will never return.
