We stayed at the Rodeway Inn recently and just wanted to commend the new owners for the renovation they are doing on this hotel. I will be honest I had second thoughts when we drove up but decided to give it a chance as the price was right on a busy Friday night. We were given a newly renovated room and they have done a great job making it comfortable. It was clean, decorated nicely and the beds were comfortable. Jennifer, at the front desk, was very helpful and accommodating even as I received a phone call that I had to take in the middle of signing in. The only thing I could point out, and I'm sure they will address it, is the weather stripping needed to be better around the door. Anyway, I recommend a stay in one of their renovated rooms. It looks like they are working really hard to create a nice place. We will definitely stay there again when in Hastings.

Very nice and clean room. Management is very accommodating. They always get me a room that's conveniently located for my work and office equipment. Housekeeping gets me what I need and works around my work hours.

I cancelled my reservation from the parking lot

I reserved a few months in advance and got a good rate. But when I arrived at the motel, I was shocked. There were weeds growing in the parking lot, no cars, and paint chipping off the door frames. One of the second floor windows was broken. Most concerting were a number of people sitting outside the rooms on the ground. No, they weren't transients we were told, they were long term stay residents. Part of our party asked to see the room. I walked in and nearly choked. A smell of old cigarettes and, well, homelessness. I walked out and called and cancelled my reservation from the parking lot. I paid twice the room rate (spur of the moment pricing) at the Holiday Inn (nice place) and didn't regret it. My friends were watching their budget closer and didn't have cancel-able reservation so they stayed. They got a room freshener and made the best of it. But I can honestly say that while I have no problem staying budget, this was the worst I'd ever come close to staying at.

My room was very comfortable and clean. The management personnel were very friendly and accommodating. Parking was adequate and convenient. Complimentary breakfast was included. I will stay at this motel again.

Good for the price

We stayed there with four couples. The upstairs rooms were much nicer the the rooms on the ground floor. The breakfast was good and the front desk staff were nice. BUT.. i did have a problem. I left a $150 racing cool shirt in the room when I left. It was hanging behind the door and it was my fault I left it. When I got home and called the hotel, i got a promise of a return call. Never happened. I called a total of five times before asking for the management head person (I held on the phone for 20 minutes). He finally answered and said he would check and call back. Never did. When I finally got a hold of him, he said "Sorry" that they couldn't find it. WOW.
