Very clean and friendly hotel. Located on The heart of Helsinki. Very cheap prices. Parking might Be problematic. Recommended to All, Even large Rooma are quite cheap. Close to nice park. Quite location.
Two months stay

I used the töölö towers for 2 months when I moved to Helsinki for a postdoctoral position. It was a pleasant stay... Staff was always very helpful and friendly! The only problem for me was my upstairs neighbor and his/her heavy foot! Oh, and not having a room facing the bay!
Comfortable place to stay

I stayed here in an apartment flat with two colleagues whilst going to a conference. The 2 bedroom apartment flat we shared was spacious, warm and comfortable. The breakfasts were good and the nearby tram stop made getting around easy.
Not quite what we expected

We stayed at the Toolo Towers for 4 nights at the beginning of September 2019. It was not quite what we expected, but as we were travelling with a party of 3, it was a reasonable option compared to renting 2 hotel rooms. However, having said that, a 2-bedroom apartment was still over 200 euros per night (we were not offered any discounts, although apparently these are available).
Regardless, Toolo Towers is not truly a hotel; it is essentially a dormitory, more designed as accommodation for students and researchers who may require a furnished apartment for more prolonged stays. Do not expect the luxuries of a hotel, including toilet paper, which you have to buy at the local grocery stores (there are 2 in close proximity). And remember to bring your own soap and shampoo. Towels are apparently replaced once weekly, so that if you stay less than one week, you will likely need to wash them yourself. Fortunately, there are excellent washers and dryers (but remember to book them ahead).
The room was relatively clean, although the shower curtains were moldy and the vanity was badly water damaged because the shower is simply part of the room (and floors require squeegeeing after a shower). The previous reviewer who mentioned the noise is correct. Despite numerous signs indicating quiet hours, the rooms are poorly sound proofed and those in the room above us were up and about most of the night for 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. If you stay here, definitely bring ear plugs!
The communal breakfast was adequate, but the eggs were powdered and not always completely cooked. The meat was available every second day and consisted of fried sliced wieners.
The location is excellent with rapid transit to the centre of the city in the southeast and to the wharfs in the southwest with an inexpensive tram pass. However, everything is eminently walkable. There are several excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
The front office seemed fairly well organized and there are good instructions in the lobby as to how to get around and what to see. Prior to our arrival, we had received 3 emails with instructions as to how to register, but the emails had 3 different times for closure of reception on the weekend (1530, 1545 and 2000hrs), so when we arrived at the airport at 1500hrs, I called security immediately as they suggested and they indicated that the reception was open until 2000hrs. I would suggest that those involved with contacting guests rectify these discrepancies.
All in all, a reasonable stay, if you do not expect 3 star accommodation.
Great choice for Helsinki - simple but nice, reasonably priced, very good location

Stayed here for 1 week in August 2019. Very reasonable prices. There are 2 buildings - A and B. Our room was a double (2 twin beds pushed together) with a bathroom, a sofa, and a small kitchenette. There was also a larger communal kitchen on the floor, as well as a sitting area and small communal balcony. The 11th floor (building A) has a large terrace with a beautiful view - great for hanging out, reading, eating, etc. The breakfast (in Building B - there is a covered walkway) was basic but adequate - oatmeal, eggs, bread, cereal, meats, cheeses, coffee, juice. Internet is free and worked well. Laundry is free (washers in the basement). Overall very clean, safe, and the staff were super helpful. Excellent location - clean, safe, and easily walkable to all the Helsinki sites (Sibelius, all harbors, the downtown and Old Market area). Toolo is near a tram stop where many of the main trams pass through. Get a multi-day pass and get anywhere easily! At this price it definitely exceeded expectations and is an excellent deal in the city; simple, practical, efficient, and more than adequate. I would stay here again.
