hotel muito bem localizado o que permite o acesso muito fácil as empresas que estão na zona industrial do canal e também esta ao lado do aeroporto de Hobby e isto sem duvidas eh um diferencial muito bom
Horrible Front Desk
We had reservations for 2 rooms the week of Jan 27, 2020. All the expenses were covered thru our company hotel corporate account so our guests just needed to be checked in and given their room keys. The front desk lady was horrible!! She had an attitude right from the being. She couldn’t locate their paperwork and told them to get our hotel corporate office to call her before they would be checked in. This is after 5 pm. My guests then called me as I am the owner of the company. I spoke with her on the phone explaining our account and everything was covered. She said she didn’t care. She then started ignoring my guests and walking away from them while they were at the counter. She was very rude and made comments under her breath saying she wasn’t going to deal with us. I was on the phone during the whole process. I then called our hotel corporate account and they called the front desk to find out what the issue was. She gave them the same attitude!! After my guests stood in the lobby for almost 1 hour, I told them to leave and I found them rooms at another hotel chain. By the way, ALL the paperwork was found after the manager was brought in. The manager never apologized or responded to me when I complained about this employee on the phone. Why are people like this working with the public??? Especially with a reputable chain like Holiday Inn. I’m shocked she is working there.
I saw some not so flattering reviews of this hotel but my experience is actually quite good. I arrived around midnight after a long international flight and was welcomed by a very cheery staff. She processed the check in quickly and sent me on my way with a bottle of free water. There is no hiding that this is an older hotel, but the renovation is done well as it can be. The room is fairly spacious and everything is modern and clean. USB charging ports are literally everywhere in the room, so I didn't even need to take out my chargers. More importantly, these USB ports puts out 2.1A of current, so I was able to charge my devices very quickly. While some airport noise can be heard as the hotel is situated at one end of the runway, I find the sound insulation quite good and had no issue with getting a good night of sleep. All in all, a great airport hotel with some happy and helpful staff to boot.
Amazing group of staff here that made a bad situation a lot easier. Special thanks to David and Paola at the front desk and or drivers Derrick and Deg. Winnie at the breakfast buffet was so sweet. Really can not say enough nice things about this hotel, rooms and staff. They truly tried to turn a bad experience (with Southwest) into a good one. They really tried to make our experience a lot better. Amazing staff, beds amazing and we are so thankful for their hospitality. Southwest can take a lesson from them on how to treat people. Instead they don’t care about the cou stone that’s stranded because flights were delayed and missed connecting flights.
A welcome stay at a trying time
My flight at Hobby was cancelled and I wasn't rebooked until the next morning at 5:55am, so I needed to find a room for the night. We ended up booking this hotel. There were a lot of cancellations, so the check in time was a bit slow, but Maya, who checked us in, was very nice and efficient at a trying time. The hotel itself was quite good. We ate dinner and also enjoyed it (service was, again, a bit slow as there was only one person working the restaurant and they clearly had much more traffic than expected because of all the extra travelers). The bed was comfortable. The room big. A really big hit was the shuttle to the airport. It is a very short ride, but they do offer 24/7 service (we took the shuttle at 4:30am or so) and they took us as soon as we checked out - we didn't have to wait at all.
