I was impressed with this hotel, with its sleek modern look. The front desk host was exceptional. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was able to check in early in, which was extremely helpful since my wife needed to take a nap. The king suite was about the size of a one bedroom apartment. The living room was spacious. The only downside was the bed was hard, but that is a personal preference. The location is a plus; close to NRG Stadium and the Houston Medical Center. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is a Target nearby and Kroger is just around the corner. We will be staying at the location again.

The location is very great! The staff outstanding starting at the front desk, house keeping and Managers. The entire staff were super friendly and made me feel at home. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I visit Houston. I will also recommend it to other family and friends. Big shout out to Bianka at the front desk! Super friendly and very professional. Keep up the good work guys! Thank you.

Sassy hotel front desk

The hotel has nice infrastructure but the front desk delivers poor customer service. This hotel still maintains the COVID policy which is to clean your room every three days unless requested, and they should inform the guests when they check in. However, when I checked in, the front desk staff Selina forgot to share this information with us. The next day when I mentioned to her that she forgot to mention this to us, she was quite sassy about I. As me being a titanium member, Selina said she was fine with me taking some water, so I took three bottles of water on my first day. Then when I checked out, I found that she charged me one bottle of water. When I asked, she explained to me that she was fine letting me taking two bottles and that’s why she “secretly” charged me for an extra bottle of water. Shouldn’t she mention this upfront instead of secretly putting the charge on my bill? She is also not fine with me taking complimentary water starting from the second day. As far as I know, all hotels I have stayed provide complimentary water every day for titanium members. The next day when I ironed clothes, the iron was rusted inside so the steam/water spray coming out of the it was dark brown and ruined my white tshirt. Luckily the hotel front desk manager Freddy is nice and agreed to clean the tshirt for me. Unless I have no choice, I would not want to stay in this hotel again and hear sassy comments from the hotel front desk.

We have stayed at the residence inn several times before with no problems. In fact, this was our preferred hotel when in Houston prior to our last visit. To make a long story short, a man forced himself into our room, locked the door behind him and indicated “people with guns” were after him. I asked him to leave and he locked the doors, threw the sofa, table and chairs in front of it and barricaded himself in. We called the front desk and 911 several times only to have the front desk hang up on us. This man went crazy when someone knocked on the door and began breaking furniture/throwing it at the door. After several other calls to the front desk and 911, the police showed up and the man answered the door. They removed him and the front desk asked us why we let this guy in. To clarify, we did not let him in nor invite him in for tea. He forced himself inside. Hotel blamed us, was upset when we asked to move rooms as this would “put them in the negative” and chastised us for opening the door. We tried to talk with the manager Gary, who was dismissive and quite brilliant at victim blaming. Several calls to Marriott and emails to corporate Marriott were ignored. We were not looking for anything but an answer as to how this man accessed the 3rd floor of a “secure hotel.” Be careful as it will happen again.

Staff is amazing!!

This has become a home away from home for a dear friend as she’s been traveling back and forth for cancer treatments. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff here is!! Words cannot express my appreciation for the genuine kindness, compassion, and willingness to go out of their way to do whatever they can to make a difficult situation a little easier. Thank you so much for everything! We will miss our trips here for sure.
