Very nice glamping tents.

The glamping tent was a great experience. I stayed for 2 nights on 2 very cold nights! It was very comfortable- especially the "extra" blanket that they had folded on the trunk at the foot of the bed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the gentleman who checked me in was very polite and the grounds are very nice. The ONLY complaint was how cold the bathhouse was- there was a sign on the heater saying you can not use it and to bring one of your portable heaters from the tent in with you.

The food at the woods was excellent. The best I ever had. We were a party of 18 and preordered our dinners. The chef made everything special the roast duck was out of this world. The salmon was great venison very good the trout was good but dry. Every side dish was excellent the sweet potatoes were excellent brown sugar and a little cinnamon. The asparagus were perfectly done and tasty Mashed potatoes with garlic were great. The deserts were excellent. Our waiter was new and inexperienced but very nice. I had to ask other servers to clear dinner plate

We have stayed in every type of enjoyable accommodation at the Woods Inn over the years. Rooms at the Inn, glam-Tents, Cottage on the lake, and, most recently, Carriage House Townhouses. Charlie and Nancy are welcoming, friendly, owners who have added even more character to the Woods Inn than its storied past. When we needed a cot for our young daughter in our room, it was always ready for us when we arrived. When we needed food with no dairy, the chef accommodated us without question. The internet, which was pretty much non-existent in our earlier years, works great! All 4 of us used it simultaneously our last visit with no problems. The Carriage Houses, we found, are more akin to an “Extended Stay Hotel” than a “vrbo.” They don’t have much space to hang out inside, so we drank our morning coffee at the lake and read books on the Inn porch. No A/C was no problem. Despite three very hot days we nonetheless were cool at night with all the windows open (we did bring 2 of our own window fans bc I prefer cold nights). The kitchen, as we were told, was minimally stocked with pots and pans (we always travel with favorite cookware because minimalist vacation kitchens are common).

Lovely place at the tip of the lake. Our dinners were excellent. My husband had the rack of lamb, I had lake trout and our friends both had the dover sole. Portions were plentiful. Our server, Kelly, was very attentive to our needs. There were many choices for dinner and it was hard to choose.

Family stay at Lakeview Cottage

My family and I recently stayed at the Lakeview Cottage. The location, view of the lake, docking, proximity to town, gas grill, lovely porch, dog-friendly, and cleanliness are all pluses. Having a pub and gracious restaurant on site is very convenient. Food is very good! There are some things that could be improved upon. The cottage accommodates up to 8 people, so it be nice to have a picnic table outside the cottage for dining. Also, the kitchen should be equipped for 8 people. We needed to request more plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, silverware, knives, etc. A working can opener, cutting board and cork screw would also be welcome additions. We had to request more towels as well. The mattress in the main bedroom is so soft that you roll into the middle. The upstairs beds were very comfortable, although without AC it is hot there for sleeping. Overall, we had a very nice stay and hope to return.
