Bom custo beneficio. Limpo mas sem recreação para crianças. Boa localização, atendentes simpáticos. Em frente a praia, piscina boa. Café da manha fraco. Nao tem academia. Possui um cassino Preços do restaurante caros ( nao fiz as refeições no hotel)

Wooow.. I don't write reviews often, but after staying 2 nights with an Explorica group at Beach Break "resort", I felt obligated to leave one. Upon arrival the place looks fine, a bit run down but nothing alarming.... I had a 100 room by the main pool. The room (s) definitely need updating and my room was INFESTED with mosquitoes. The 2 windows did not close fully and a large gap between the front door and the floor. I first thought the mosquitoes were mainly in the bathroom so I kept the door shut and thought that would work, but I was wrong. I left this place with easily 30 bites all over. I sprayed bug spray on my body and sheets before sleeping but was still basically ate alive. Another adult who was in the room next to mine saw what she thought were bed bugs along her mattress and moved rooms to the farther side ... I should have moved rooms immediately after seeing all the mosquitoes. We hiked all over Arenal and Monteverde prior to Jaco and I had no issues with mosquitoes, maybe 2 or 3 bites total. I checked my mattress and didn't see any evidence of bed bugs. The bed every time I sat down on it made cracking noises and sounded like it would break. A different adult said her shower door was moldy and falling off its hinges. Her bathroom also flooded during our stay. 2 other adults (shared room) in our group had to move rooms because of an ant infestation in theirs (200 hallway). The section of the hotel by the farther second pool looks like its been renovated, so I'd definitely request a room on that side if you have to stay at this property. The WiFi barely worked, mostly didn't work in my room... the only area with reliable service was by the front desk. There was a big storm our first night and a transformer blew so we went without electricity / AC for a whole night (be prepared with a flashlight and a portable phone charger). We heard power outages were pretty common in Jaco. You can see the reminats of better days at this place.. an abandoned swim up bar. Signs for a restaurant that doesn't exist. The room has no mini fridge. There is no ice machine or vending machine. Breakfast/dinner is catered in and was pretty tasty.. however, no fans in the outdoor dinning area and there was this high pitch humming noise during dinner that about drove me mad. Jaco Beach itself is awful. From a distance it looks ok but up close its covered in rocks, plant debris, trash, broken glass/ceramic pieces. Kids who spent time playing on the beach had bites all over their legs.. possibly sand fleas. The waves are huge and rough, rip tides, so don't expect to swim. You also cannot walk down the beach to other hotels because of a river next to this hotel... it rained A LOT during our trip.. so maybe during dryer times the river isn't as full and you can cross.. not sure. This hotel definitely has a contract with Explorica and World Strides. Almost everyone there was with a tour group. If you have any control over your itinerary I would 100% stay somewhere else, or even better, skip Jaco Beach all together. Because of the strong storm our first night, the road to Manuel Antonio flooded and was impossible to pass. So we had to spend a whole day in Jaco. It's a tourist trap, souvenir shop after souvenir shop with basically the same things and restaurants. That's it. We made the best of it and still had a decent time, but our trip definitely did not end on a high note.
