A truly stunning holiday
Avaliou em 7 de fevereiro de 2023
We stayed in Pantokrator with EasyJet Holidays during August 2022. The holiday did not start too well as we was dropped off at the bottom of the hill, with our cases in midday sun and had to (quite literally) push the cases up the hill. When we arrived, the receptionist was so friendly and welcoming, and apologised on behalf of the coach company as apparently they are supposed to drop you off at the hotel, rather than on the main road. If this happens to you, please call the hotel, and they will send their mini bus transfer down to you immediately. We did not know this at the time - however did this later on in the holiday when we went out for the day and service worked really well. In all honesty, the hill from the street to the hotel is not that bad at all, just when you have heavy bags / cases it can be a challenge. The hotel is truly in one of the most stunning locations on the whole of Corfu. The views from our room, the pool and restaurant are to die for. The hilly location is the price you pay for the spectacular views. Room: we were upgraded free of charge to a superior room. We had tea and coffee making facilities, a large fridge, a safe, excellent air con, a large balcony (again with amazing views) located in a peaceful location. The bed was comfortable. The room was lovely and one of the best I have ever stayed in in Greece. We were on level 3, and dealt with the steps just fine. The hilly location, unless you have mobility issues, should really not put you off this hotel. Cleaners were fantastic and our room was always immaculately clean. Food: food was varied and really tasty every day. Some traditional Greek dishes which were lovely but there really was something for everyone. I am gluten free, and there were plenty of options for me. Service: the staff, including the receptionist, were exceptionally friendly, and super super helpful. They try their absolute best to make sure you have the best stay. They are extremely professional. Pool: extremely clean. Large in size. Lots of sun beds, and a number of double beds under shade. We never had an issue trying to get a sun bed and it was August. Entertainment: this area I felt could have been worked on. There is little entertainment at the hotel - which will really suit you if you want a super relaxed, peaceful quiet holiday. We instead went down to the local bars for a bit more entertainment in the evening, and there are plenty to choose from in Barbati. We also chose to do some excursions which the hotel recommended and booked for us. I think if you are confident to drive in Greece I would say hiring a car and seeing the island that way would be a better option. The excursions are reasonably priced, however in particular for the Blue cruise boat trip to Paxos and the caves, we had a total of 2 hours out of a 9 hour day actually off the boat and looking around / swimming. I wouldn’t recommend this trip and I made the hotel aware of this when we returned. Again, the receptionist was apologetic and took our comments on board. She also assisted me with a cut on my foot that occurred during the excursion. There is also a great bus service that will take you to corfu town for as little as €5 each. We did this one of the days and it was a great day out - Corfu town is beautiful. Overall, we had a really really lovely holiday in Corfu. Please don’t let the slope put you off booking this hotel. For the views, the room, the staff, the location, the food it is so so worth it. We’d love to come back - thank you for such a wonderful holiday.

Couldn’t have asked for better. Upon arrival we were met by the reception staff who came to take our cases, they then told us we had an upgraded room before driving us up to it and taking our cases in. The room was nice, with a fridge and coffee making facilities, plus a lovely view from the veranda. The pool is beautiful and the view from there is stunning. The food offered a great variety of Greek food and the bar also offered a good selection of drinks. The reviews mentioning wasps were right, but that can’t be helped and it’s easy enough to swat them away or sit inside. The hotel is on a steep hill, but it’s far from impossible to climb. We ended up walking it every time as we didn’t see the point of getting the shuttle. If you’ve got a basic level of fitness you’ll be able to do it easy, you might be a bit out of breathe but it’s nothing really. The front desk were super helpful, especially with bus times and wash rooms/suitcase storage for when you’re leaving. For buses into corfu town I’d suggest getting off at the stop in the middle of the town (I think it’s the first stop after Ipsos) and getting back on at the green bus station (about a 15 min walk) as it was much easier to find. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back again.

Just left this beautiful place. We stayed for 5 nights at The Pantokrator Hotel. Set up on the hill the views over the bay were stunning. Food, room and pool area were all great. The only thing I will say is as this hotel is set up a steep hill, the hotel put a bus on every half hour to drop u at the bottom for u to get to the beach. However once ur dropped here U still have a 5/7 min flat walk before going down another steep hill to get onto the beach. This didn’t bother us at all as we are used to walking and hiking I just feel it would have been a lot more helpful if the bus dropped u down at the beach entrance even if this was 2/3 times a day. We had transfers with MK Corfu Transfers Zoi Skreka €45 each way and they were spot on time both ways and gave me a beautiful little gift I would highly recommend these 😀

The hotel views are stunning but getting there is not for anyone with poor mobility. Getting to the beach! The curtesy bus drops you off on the main road which is useless as the hill down to the beach is equally steep. Food was good. Room 400s have dreadful internet. We asked reception if we could move as we were staying 3 weeks (needing access for my business) and had heard other guests on lower levels had no issues. Our requests were ignored (although the reception staff said they would try and as the hotel was slowing getting emptier at the season end it was disappointing that they didn’t. I could say that the dining room staff need to be a little bit more careful about food labelling as they have vegetarian food ( labelled that contained meat ) ., when we pointed this out, they just questioned if we are vegan and the chef rolled his eyes when we said plant based diet. Not sure how this would play out if you have a serious allergy. Although I sound a bit moany, I still loved my stay and I would come back.

A fantastic, relaxing week

My partner and I were blown away during our stay at the Pantokrator hotel. We stayed in a superior room with sea view, we were impressed with the furnishings and the balcony had an amazing view of the corfu coastline. We opted for half board and the food was a Very high standard and different every day. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism of the entire week was that the TV channels were in German. The hotel pool was a good size, never over-crowded and had a good beach bar. We were pleasantly surprised by the village of Barbatí, with a lovely beach just around 10 minutes walk from the hotel and a supermarket also nearby. The hotel is situated on a hill however a shuttle service runs every 30 mins if you don’t want to walk. It is easy also to travel into corfu using the green bus service costing only €4.40 return. Another highlight of the week was hiring a boat from Spiros boat hire located on Barbatí beach (very reasonable at approx €100 for the day and a friendly service). Overall we had a fantastic stay and hope to return in the near future!
