After many great New Year celebration stays we decided to spend Christmas. The hotel now is Best Western previously privately owned and some of the things that make the hotel special are not there any more. Tables in bar/lounge left with dirty crockery and glasses for long periods which we moved to one side. Menu was ok with supplements. Food was good and served as per other our other visits The staff seemed to be lacking in training. I believe it was the manager who was often hurrying around but I think it would have been nice for him say good morning or evening to the guests. Things change I know however some hotel services make your stay welcomed. Thank you to the reception staff. For our checking in and out

Really good stay. Team so helpful room spotless, food and service first call, thank you. We will be back. Busy hotel but all were accommodated and team always willing to help and support guest. Very highly recommended

Very good apart from kitchen management

Bad experience at newly renovated Alexander's pub-restaurant - stale bread (twice), cold, dry tagliatelle. In main restaurant kitchen forgot an order of sorbet in evening and poached eggs in morning. Front of house and reception staff were very good and room were pleasant and clean. Room price was reasonable but food prices were high given poor kitchen management.

Me and my partner stayed here for her birthday, just a nice weekend away is what we needed. The stay from start to finish was amazing! Heather checked us in she was so so helpful, the room was very clean! Spotless Infact. Arrived with a beautiful view from our balcony and a nice bottle of Prosecco The lady at the greenhouse bar Saturday evening needs more credit to the team! She told us she was a trainee and did great! Despite being left on her own. Breakfast was poor, when we arrived there was barely anything there, staff at breakfast was un organised and left us standing for at least 15 minutes before they even came over! Other than that. Thank you to everyone that made our stay welcoming and refreshing

The Castle Green hotel is a fantastic choice, I would highly recommend it to anyone. The accommodation is excellent, courteous staff, superb food, great conference facilities. The Reception team are extremely helpful.
