Great location, nice rooms
If you're doing anything downtown, stay here. The location is great and the rooms have everything you might need. Despite the location, the front desk has a hard time calling cabs, so if you need to be somewhere, have your rideshare ready.
Wyndham Garden Kenosha Harborside visit
I’ve been staying at Wyndham Garden Kenosha for many years and it’s always an excellent experience. Impeccably clean and wonderful, friendly service. Thank you very much, awesome managers Hetal and Molly!
Beautifully remodeled property
Rooms and common areas were recently redecorated and were really nice and fresh. Hotel is in a great location to walk to many things in the downtown area. The restaurant/bar across the street has great food and great outdoor/open air seating. Perfect overnight away for my husband and I to celebrate his birthday.
Don’t stay
Save your money I have been staying here for years it’s just going down hill . Rooms are not very clean or updated. We stayed at here over the weekend to go fishing the lady at the front took over an hour to check us in ran my card twice said if she didn’t know if she done the credit correctly to call bank and find out (this is Saturday night at 8 pm )told her my bank is not open. She then said to come back we went across street to eat came back took another 30 mins to get checked in go to room they give us a single bed instead of a double got that switched another 20 min. go to bed fire alarm goes off at 245 am go down stairs said some kid pulled it left for fishing at 5 while we were gone alarms went off at 8 and 9 am we get back at 11 am alarms still going off stay outside tell 3 an employee came by as they just shut off said they had problems fixed I go up at 3 to take a nap( didn’t get any sleep the night before) just fell asleep and they go off again!! go back down stairs they go off none stop tell around 730 we stayed down tell around 830 to see if they were going to go off again (we were on 5 th floor)finally we got upstairs and there was peace and quite the rest off the night.wake up to go fishing go down to check out at 4 tell the man our experience. he could care less after a while he said he could do half off the last night but nothing off the first night so I tell him that when we checked in we paid for a lake view which I believe is like 15 dollars more if he would credit that back for the 2 nights he said we got a great rate it was usually 200 a night we only paid 176 so we already got a great deal (we stay here at least 4 trips a year and never paid 200 ) last month it was 116 I got tired of his bs I told him I won’t be back !!!! Other then the location it’s not very good place to stay ps the elevators were broke as wore they last month Gone down hill going to try the Stella next fishing trip !!!
Accused of Stealing Towels!
We checked in planning to spend three nights. We checked out after the first night. Due to Covid, the pool and exercise room were closed. However, none of the staff wore masks and social distancing was not being enforced. So, what is it? We checked in and there were no towels in the room. I was able to get some towels from a housekeeper who was in the hallway. Just as she was giving me towels, another housekeeper came to our room to provide towels. She said she was just finishing the room and needed to supply the room with towels. It was 4:30 p.m. and check-in is at 3 p.m. Why check us into a room that is not ready? Which leads me to the woman at the front desk. Someone needed to tell her she was working. She volunteered she was a “trainee,” which explained her unwillingness and desire to be helpful. The room was small making the walk areas narrow. That would not necessarily be an issue, however, the beds are propped up on wood blocks that extend outside of the bed. Both my husband and I stubbed our toes on the wood blocks – my stubbing was minor. However, my husband’s toe and side of his foot swelled to the point he had trouble walking. The microwave did not work. It would run and then shut off. When I complained at checkout how horrendous our stay was, all the woman behind the counter could repeat, robotically, was “Thank you for letting me know.” When I explained the microwave was not working, she asked if I had checked to ensure it was plugged in. I had to explain that I know how to run a microwave and that it would run and shut off. No apologies. No offer of compensation. Nothing. Here’s the kicker: When I left the desk to finish loading the car, my husband, who had stayed behind in the room for a last check, was walking out and heard two women behind the desk arguing. One said, “They probably stole the towels – there should have been towels in the room.” He also heard, “Why didn’t they call to have the microwave replaced?” Yes, blame us for your broken microwave and accuse us of stealing your towels. Unbelievable. The hotel is worn – the shower curtain had mold. We only stayed because we were tired and had just lugged our belonging into the room. The next letter is to the Wyndham Headquarters. The company needs to know what kind of lousy hotel owners are using its name. Stay away. The Marriott is much, much cleaner and the Marriott always has professional, kind staff members.
