Férias no paraíso

Aeolos Beach Hotel Kos

Really lovely staff. Great room. Awesome location overlooking Greek islands and coast of Turkey. Sea breeze made it a very bearable, pleasant temperature (despite 30c July temperature). With window open at night didn’t even turn on AC at night. Didn’t see any mosquitoes. Sea had waves all week - it’s the wilder side of island so don’t expect dead calm; we visited the Aegean side of island - where there was no breeze and dead calm sea - but unbearably hot. Our room deal included two reserved (numbered) sunbeds by pool so zero stress with people who wake before dawn to put towels on sunbeds. Just go!

Relaxing holiday

Spent a lovely week at Aelolos Baech Hotel 17-24 June 2022. We had 2 premium bungalows next door to each other (603 and 604) and were delighted with the room allocation as we only booked the holiday 2 weeks prior to arrival. We arrived late so the restaurant was closed on our first evening but we had been left with a ham and cheese sandwich, an apple and piece of cake each and a bottle of lovely rose wine and a couple of bottles of water which filled a gap before breakfast. Lovely friendly staff on reception and in Tranquillo restaurant. Enjoyed the food although not the best offering we have had when on all inclusive holiday, but we didn't go hungry and certainly didn't experience any cold dishes which many have stated in other reviews. Our younger daughter is vegetarian so the choice for her was pretty limited but we did also eat out a couple of times so she could choose a couple of nice meals. The snack bar by the pool was nice and we had a couple of Gyros during the week. You get a ticket from the pool bar for this and it changes daily and is free if all inclusive. We did find that Tranquillo got very crowded at lunchtimes and the staff were rushed off their feet. That said, they were still smiling and friendly! When booking premium bungalow it says you eat all meals at Tranquillo, but it seemed to be that everyone ate there anyway! There was certainly no reserved seating/tables and nobody ticking you off a list, so don't think that this shoudl be used as a selling point when booking. You queue up like everyone else! Drinks hit and miss. as others have said, cocktails very sweet and sickly. They all tasted similar, and the cocktail of the day was only available at the pool bar as the guy on the beach bar by tranquillo wasnt particularly forthcoming! We have never been limited to times and drinks at other all inclusive hotels so found that the bar service was a bit restrictive. We're not big drinkers but do enjoy a beer or 2,especially when on holiday. The rooms were cleaned every day with new towels and water bottles replenished, along with tea, coffee, milk pots. Our cleaner was lovely and worked incredibly hard, as did pretty much most of the staff. Best bit for us was the reserved sunbeds and pool area directly outside our room. Handy to nip in to top up suncream and go to the loo! We hired some bicycles for the day and cycled down to Tigaki (we had stayed here some 27 years ago so enjoyed seeing how the resort had grown) and then into Kos town the same evening. There is a cycle path to Kos town which made cycling easy and quick, Infact, i think it took a little less time to cycle than it did to catch the bus (2euro) as this stops at all hotels along the route. The location of the hotel is lovely, sea views wonderful and was nice to walk along the beach which was quite stony/sandy. The sea was lovely and warm and shallow for quite a way out with lovely waves and was nice to swim in. Showers by the beach were great to wash the sand off your feet before going back to pool areas. The beach isnt groomed like some other resorts weve stayed at so does have quite a bit of debris.....shocking how much plastic is washed up! Kos town well worth a visit, lots to look at and nice bars, restaurants and little shops. The old town is particularly quaint. We enjoyed our holiday and with a few tweaks the hotel could be amazing. Would return but possibly not all inclusive and would hire a car so could get about a bit more without using the bus. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work.

Sadly, apart from the newly refurbed bungalows I wouldn't class this hotel as 4 star. The food was generally cold, cold potatoes, cold chips, cold stews. Not a good start to our hols so ate out in Kos town a few times which was not cheap. Pool bar staff were nice, but the drinks were generally awful. Syrupy sweet " cocktails" and overly frothy beer, which at times was only a half filled plastic cup!. At 8pm we were allowed a glass, which was a bit better. The entertainment at night was ok, but not on every night, so people just sat around playing cards, or used their mobiles ( if wifi was working) which was random. Most of the staff were pleasant, the only one we had a problem with was a tall bloke wearing glasses who worked at the beach bar, he seemed rude, obnoxious and didn't want to serve customers. Tried getting a drink and all he could say was " sorry?" "Sorry??" Like he couldn't understand me, but i heared him speaking perfectly good English to other customers, 🤔 Ended up using the pool bar as the staff there were so much more friendly. The Tranquilo restraunt is advertised as some kind of special place to " dine" however i found it to be just a basic eating place, again with cold food which everybody was moaning about. The outside eating area was shabby too, hardly special. On the whole an average holiday, not worth the 3 grand we paid, the only real plus was the bungalow we had, hearing the ocean at night was a bonus, and our cleaner did a great job keeping our room spotless. ( tell her thank you again) 👍 Shout out to the lovely gentleman who drove the buggy too, always a smile and a good morning/afternoon. 🌟 Improvements needed, i know you are still recovering from the covid restictions, but unfair to charge so much for facilities which at times did not meet clients expectations. Wishing you well for the future. Good luck and good wishes to all at Aeolos Beach. 😎

First couple holiday

We have just returned home from a 10 day stay at Aeolos beach hotel. We were a bit sceptical after reading some of the reviews but we feel the reviews are a bit harsh. When we arrived the lady at reception was very welcoming and ensured we had food before the restaurant closed and had a buggy ride to our room. Most beautiful setting pool and beach view room which quite possibly had the best sunsets and best views. Definitely recommend the premium bungalows which were spotless and had allocated sun beds which was a massive pro. Massive shout out to the amazing staff in beach bar restaurant who always had a smile on their face and always friendly. We went here for lunch and tea most days as the view of the sea was perfect and such welcoming staff. There wasn't a great deal of entertainment, seemed to be every other night more music based, dj night, jaz night ect. we liked to get a bus into the town a couple of nights which was only a 10 minute ride to Kos town €2pp. Also there was not a lot for kids to do at this hotel, but in all fairness this isn't advertised, theres a park on site but would definitely say it's more tailored to adults. Transfer from the airport was suggested as 1 hour 10 minute however, we were on the bus for less than 30 minutes so the transfer time was perfect. The only reason for a 3 review is due to lack of entertainment and not a lot of variety of food. The food they had was lovely but started to get a bit repetitive for fussy eaters like me towards the end. But overall was an amazing holiday. If you are looking for a quieter holiday Aeolos beach is absolutely perfect. We had a lovely holiday and are sad to be back home. Thank you for a lovely stay.
