Great family run hotel!

We stayed here for a couple of nights as we were taking part in a local running race.
We received a very friendly welcome and were made to feel at home straight away.
Our room had a balcony which overlooked the nicely laid out garden (with natural swimming pool), and also gave views of the local scenery.
We ate in the hotel restaurant and were very pleased with the food, wine, and friendly service.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
A good centre for picturesque scenery and wildlife

We stayed in Hotel Bellier for four nights in early/middle of May. This was our third stay during the last ten years. We came primarily because it is well situated to see the spring flowers (primarily, but not exclusively, wild orchids). The local scenery is truly spectacular. The area is fairly remote and within close proximity to high mountains, very deep gorges and beautiful rolling farmland. The hotel is a small family run affair with simple but comfortable facilities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is local, well prepared and tasty. The local town is quiet and the rush hour consists of ten people and two cars! The tourist office has plenty of local information. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to to stay there again.

Saying at the Bellier is a wonderful experience. Family run by multi-generational hoteliers (The Bellier Family), it has a slightly old-world feel to it. Friendly and helpful staff who really understand what a small hotel should be. The restaurant is spacious and bright, and lined with antiques. Food is all home-cooked and excellent. The Potatoes Gratine are superb.
The rooms at the back overlook a lovely small pond that also serves as a swimming pool, and an historic little stone chapel.
The town of La Chapelle is pleasant and very walkable - with several good restaurants, excellent bakeries, and charcuteries. Wonderful local cheeses in the Spar grocery. The town looks fairly modern - because the whole place was destroyed by the Nazis in WWI. The Vercors was a brave focus for the Resistance and paid the price. Now it is a fine central location for hiking and sightseeing in this beautiful area. Not far away is a striking museum and memorial to the Resistance, as well as some superb hikes.
This was a return visit - two years before we stayed here for the first time and I had a medical emergency (suspected heart attack) - the hotel staff were wonderful and the local VOLUNTEER paramedics (The Pompiers - who double as also the firemen/women) were extraordinary. Not that I would recommend it - but I was treated to a nighttime trip in through the mountains (Hairpins and tunnels) in an ambulance with the Pompiers to the hospital in distant Romans-sur-Isere. And then a return trip once released at 1:00 AM driven back by my wife through the hairpins and tunnels to the hotel where one of the Bellier family had left the key to the hotel under the door mat. It is that kind of hotel! On this visit the family assisted me in finding and personally thanking those wonderful volunteers.

We stayed here with other group members whilst on a Naturetrek holiday. This is a clean and quiet family-run hotel set in a charming village and is a good base from which to explore the stunning Vercors area. The hotel's eco-friendly ethos particularly appealed to us (natural swimming pool, locally sourced food, green technology), yet the levels of comfort and convenience were never compromised by its rustic nature. Our room was perfect - well maintained but not over-fussy, and with great views over the pool and garden and out towards the mountains. The staff are friendly, helpful and hardworking, and all meals were expertly prepared and high-quality. Thank you to owner Fabienne and all of your team for a great stay. I’m sure we’ll be back again.
