Very pleasant place to eat.

We wandered into this restaurant having glimpsed the lovely patio from the street. It is quiet - no music thank God - and cool. We had the grilled chicken. It was well prepared, which is not a given in Cuba. We would go back, definitely. As for their toilet: a cistern is not a space ship. It doesn't require much to make it flush. The devil is in the details.

It was a little after noon; while walking around Havana with a couple of friends, we noticed a beautiful courtyard through the doors of a building. It was obviously a restaurant. It was peaceful, quiet, open to the sky and a nice change from the busy streets of Havana. The menu wasn't extensive but it was local and the food was good and inexpensive. I would recomment this restaurant to anyone visiting Havana. We didn't realize the building was a hotel until we looked in more detail at the menu.

Great location in the heart of Havana midway down the famous O'Reilly Street. Lovely rooms with nice decor. Pricewise it's in keeping with the high hotel prices of Havana. A special mention to German, the barman, who looked after my New Zealand friend and I. Very polite and knowledgeable guy and always there to help.
Good option for Havana but not without fault

Havana is changing rapidly and prices are escalating, which means this hotel offers relatively good value. Rooms are set around a beautiful central courtyard, and of a decent size but are dated and in need of upgrading (new bedding essential!). The location is very good, in the old town which is the best place to be. The main downside is the service, which is mediocre; the bell boy expected a tip and the exchange rate offered at reception is a complete rip off (go across the road to the bank!). Likewise we chose to book other excursions from the Telegraph hotel concierge as found them more trustworthy. Unlikely to return, but this hotel isn't a bad an option if travelling on a budget with realistic expectations.

Although we only stayed for 3 days, our stay in this hotel was definitely disappointing. Our room was generally acceptable for Cuba, however the safe and telephone was broken and we tried numerous times to get it repaired, but had no luck. The bath in our bathroom never worked as the handle had been removed (the cleaning lady said this was done deliberately :-(). The attitude of the reception desk was shocking. The lady was rude and not willing to help. A shuttle was included in our booking from the airport to the hotel, but never pitched and the hotel said that they have never had a shuttle service. The breakfast was a let down....poor selection and the hot food was cold. No good tea or coffee. The bar staff and porters were friendly and always willing to assist. We enjoyed our time in Cuba but the hotel put a dampner on our visit.
