Good low-budget Hotel; nice Breakfast; huge rooms; a little sloppy

We have been through an organized tour there. I really liked the Hotel for it's authentic; rustical mexican style. There is a "posada" in the entrance; everything is made by solid building materials as Wood and Stone. The Hotel is located about 10 minutes in car in the center. The breakfast was amazing. The rooms are huge; rustical and you feel like a "patron" in it. The hotel is a little old and needs renorvation; it was not dirty but neither clean; there was always a kind of old/moldy/chemical smell in the rooms and curtains....

A study in Mexican Colonial hospitality modernized

I was there two days ago---I do NOT understand the poor reviews. The hotel is a constant study of wood, iron, stone, & tile flooring. Large mural on far wall at entry. Large statue as fountain was SIMPLY IMPRESSIVE. My room, as a judge for part of the horseshow at Fair across the street was excellent. Unfortunately it got loud in the evening. Breakfast buffet(maybe a touch pricey) was EXCELLENT. Dinner one night was good. Everyone on staff was polite. As someone who travels to resolve Agriculture & Agronomy situations worldwide--as a Horse judge worldwide, I see a lot of hotels--this one, for the $$ was EX-damn-CELLENT

This place has been seen better times...

Is kinda hard for me to have not such a subjective review of this place, this used to be the best inn within the Jalisco's Highs, but nowadays it get older and the age is showing it's issues within the hotel, but the breakfast really gets a high note....

Worst Experience/ Service

We have stayed here years before, and remember it being nice and clean with great service. This visit was anything but that! We got to the hotel late at night loud music was playing in the main courtyard. Thought that was completely inappropriate to see the staff blaring music and relaxing. Once we got into the room, it looked dark and dingy. The bathroom lights did not work, the tv did not work, and the wifi was spotty, at best. Worst of all, there was absolutely NO hot water. Woke up in the morning and my husband goes to complain about the lights and hot water. Then 10 minutes later, a man shows up at the door with a big dirty bucket filled with hot water. We were supposed to use that to wash up! We checked our right away even though our reservation was for another 2 nights. Save your money and time. This place has not been kept up and is filthy, dark, and depressing. The service, well, there is none! Had to give 1 rating since I couldn't give less.

Something changed?

No doubt its been 6 years since we have been to Casa Grande, But to be truthfull I always thought it was a cartel owned property. We would drive from Connecticut every winter and stay there after the long drive from Larado to PV, It was always clean, huge rooms, friendly , pets ok and cheap. The only wierd thing was no one stayed there. it was always empty.. I thought maybe it was a money laundry property.. It saddens me to see the so so reviews. It must have goone downhill since I stayed there.
