Couldn’t stay because of horrible behavior of front desk clerk!
Avaliou em 27 de fevereiro de 2023
My mom and I had reservations here and the front desk girl was so unhelpful, and horribly rude. She hung up on me twice and then didn’t answer when we tried to call again. She said she wasn’t going to talk to me because I was rude. What a joke…I’m rude because I insisted the manager call me Asap that night! The corporate Marriott said they shouldn’t have given me any issues with my request, and they were appalled by the treatment I received! Apparently this hotel doesn’t care because they still haven’t reached out to me, even after filing a complaint. There are much better hotels staffed with very helpful front desk clerks I’d rather use than this one! I was even charged after being told I wouldn’t be, and “someone” checked us in, according to the Marriott app, even though we didn’t make it to the hotel after being treated so badly! Never had such issues in all my years of traveling! Highly recommend skipping this place when traveling I95 north!

Didn’t honor discount coupons after they said they would
Avaliou em 9 de fevereiro de 2023
I presented 2- 10.00 off coupons that we picked up at the North Carolina welcome center and the man at the in check counter said they would honor the discount. However we never received the discount. I have called the hotel several times but they say that the general manager Renee is not in. I have left several messages but she has yet to call me back. So frustrating!! It has left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be staying again at the Fairfield by Marriott in Lumberton North Carolina.

Disgusting Property and Staff
Avaliou em 12 de janeiro de 2023
STAY AWAY. The hotel was FILTHY!!! Towels stained, rugs disgusting, foul odors everywhere to the point you can't sleep. Awful staff - rude and as dirty as the hotel. And, they bill you twice!!!! Problem 1 – the room: I had just driven 15 hours. I needed to rest before driving the rest of the way. I got into my room and there was such a toxic odor that sleep was not that possible. I probably got 2 hours sleep at best. The white face cloth had a brown stain on it and the rug was dirty. I just tried to sleep. . In the morning, I wanted to make a cup of coffee in the in-room coffee maker. There was still coffee in the machine from the last guest. Disgusting. No coffee for me. Problem 2 – The check out: I got to the lobby and the desk person was on a table in the lobby doing something and not acknowledging me at the front desk. Once I got his attention, I said I wanted to check out. I presented my coupons and said I was told I could use these. He put his hands on his face and gasped. I said nothing, after some time he presented a bill for $134?. With taxes and without a coupon my bill should have been $114. He added the $20, and said I would be credited the $20 later? IT MADE NO SENSE. You don’t add $20 to be credited $20 later. Even if it was to be “credited later”, the bill should have read the original $114. It was at best neutral / like not having a coupon at all. At worse, it was paying $20 extra. I tried to explain to him that it was wrong. He wouldn't even listen or hear me out. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY THE RUDEST HOTEL EMPLOYEE I HAVE EVER MET. We exchanged words and he complained that the desk clerk who checked me is should have applied the coupon – hence his attitude. I said that is NOT my problem. I shouldn’t be treated as a nuisance when checking out. I said I would get it fixed myself and left. For the record, your associate and his clothes were filthy. That is an awful impression. Problem 3 – resolving the bill issue: I called the hotel to get my bill fixed on the 3rd. I spoke to an associate who said, “Oh I know about this, I was told your bill was wrong when I came in.” So, the night person who wouldn’t listen to me knew my bill was wrong? Unbelievable! Had he the courtesy to hear me out, a lot of hassle would have been avoided. She fixed the bill and emailed me the corrected copy.. The to associate told me to call and let the GM, named Renee, about this experience. Apparently this is a chronic problem. I was going to let it go as I thought I was done – it was resolved. But it wasn’t. Problem 4– the bill(s): I checked my AMEX bill on line. I have 2 charges posted. The first (billed on the second during check in) was for $114 – obviously the authorization The second for the corrected amount of $94. So, now I want to call Renee. I called the property and asked for Renee. Whomever answered the phone said: “She busy.” I said does that mean I leave a message, I call back…….I got nothing but dead air space. So I called Marriott Titanium guest services. All told, I was on the phone for over an hour and a ½. Still TEN DAYS LATER - have not been refunded. They offered my 5000 points. I told them to keep it. I have 2.5 million points. That's insulting. Problem 5 - Marriott Bonvoy. THEY ARE NO HELP. I've been a loyal customer / Titanium elite for life for 10 years. They do not care about their brand, or your business anymore and it shows. Worse and worse every year. Try a Hilton brand instead

Ok for a 1 night stay

Hotel is in massive need of updating. Our room had a crack in the window, the air vent was covered in “stuff,” and the top of the toilet bowl was cracked. The hotel also had a smell - kind of like cigarettes and cleaning products mixed together. We didn’t use the heat/ac-the room stayed at an ok temperature. The room was otherwise clean. Breakfast was ok. It was really ok for just a night, but I do not believe I would stay here again.

Okay for a night

We were on a quick road trip up I-95. This hotel is located right off the highway which is both good and bad. Good in that it was easy to get to and then back on the road in the morning. Bad, in that you hear the highway all night. The room was clean, but very dated. The TV was the size of a computer monitor and the only channel guide we saw, but did not really note at the time, was lying at the check in desk in the lobby. The heater worked well and was quieter than the hotel I stayed at the night prior. There was a smell of marijuana in the hallway, but this is becoming a common occurrence in a lot of hotels. The breakfast was not appealing and a less desirable than other Marriott properties of the same price range. There was plenty of parking. The service, not that we really needed anything other than to check in and out, was not overly friendly or engaging. Overall, for the price, it was fine for a night when passing through.
