Food quality and staff were very good, However, the hotel bathroom accommodations and lighting were the worst I have ever experienced and certainly not worth the over $ 2,000 a night rate. The best part of the stay was the shower, mattress and the "Spa" experience...which was excellent..
Major Let Down - should be called a Faux-Berge Resort
Avaliou em 19 de Outubro de 2021
One of the most embarrassing let downs for the Auberge brand. We arrived and asked if we could move dinner just 30 minutes. Was Told NO. Yet restaurant was 1/3 booked.
Asked about e-bikes rentals we had arrange - they said we never confirmed with them - we found out from rental place they never inquired.
Admittedly we paid $1,600 dollars/night thinking it would be an Auberge experience like in Napa location. We had room number 8. Beware - and I have photos to prove it - one view out window is of flat room between two buildings and the storage closet next to our room had a bent, pushed out screen and an open window where supplies were hanging out. The other view is blocked by the massive hood/fans from the kitchen below. Literally. We heard the dishes being done late into the night and the fan was blowing most of the day. We left our window open and our room smelled of grease/food. The next day, early in the am, asked if we could dine again in the fine dining restaurant - which was amazing - and asked that they call us to let us know. Never got a call. Asked again in person and was told no. Spoke with Bethany the room director/acting manager (there was not one on premise) and she tried to ask again. The maitre'ed said NO out of control. They said they were at capacity. Then later admitted they didn't have enough staff to seat more people. Bethany said "people understand staffing shortages at hotels"...and I replied not at $1,600/nt hotels. She admitted that the hotel has "no control" over the restaurants decisions and that the maitre'd was just not going to budge. I told her I would come back from our dinner in town and take a picture of the dining room and that it would be empty - at 8pm I did and it was empty. I have all the photos and I showed them to Bethany who looked horrified. They brag about coffee delivered to your room each morning. They couldn't get the time right. When we called they said "it's at your door" - which it wasn't. They reminded me it's a no smoking property and the staff smokes out back around a makeshift ashtray station behind the parking lot. I know people might read this and say it was foolish to book a hotel that expensive. Or that these were little things. But if you saw the pictures, heard the staff, and heard "no" the whole weekend you would realize this was a sub-premium Auberge resort experience with a rude, inexperienced staff and manager. By the way, they offered to reduce the price on the rooms - but I refused to accept. It wasn't why I complained - it was to protect other people from wasting their time or having their expectations dashed. Auberge should be horrified, no matter how much they profit from it. It's still about their brand.
Relaxing stay at the White Barn Inn

From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we were greeted with friendly faces in a relaxed, tranquil environment. I can't say enough good things about the White Barn Inn. The staff went above & beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was clean and quiet. The food was mouth watering and the view of the fall foliage out our window was breathtaking. One of the best parts of the trip, we were not nickeled and dimed. Everything was included in our stay; bottled water, 3 newspapers, smores by the fire at night, coffee to our room every morning ordered just the way we liked and bikes to use at our leisure. Very nice touch that made both of us feel special!! I will definitely stay here again!!
Our private wedding reception and couple's spa night were highlights during our week along the coast of Maine

The reception for our small intimate wedding consisted of a cocktail social hour, followed by a four-course dinner with an additional wedding cake for dessert, in the private wine cellar of the White Barn Inn. Rachel, the Inn’s Events Manager, was very detail-oriented while helping us construct our menu and itinerary. Moreover, she ensured that our party received excellent service throughout the evening. The ambiance, food, and drinks were all exceptional, and helped make the day especially memorable for all our guests, while Chris, our main waitstaff that evening, provided wonderful interaction throughout the evening.
At the end our honeymoon 6 day later, we also had enjoyed the “Date Night at the Spa”, which is the White Barn’s couple massage experience. Jayleen and Melissa helped ensure that the final evening of our honeymoon afforded a perfect wrap-up to a memorable week up and down the coast of Maine. Both of these experiences were consistent with the excellent reputation beholding of the White Barn Inn, and we are excited to visit again!
