Stayed one night, period property, so uneven and creaky floors. Comfortable bed but room quite small, TV tiny. Nice shower with complimentary toiletries. The room is above a pub, so expect some noise. Not disruptive and as we stayed on a Monday night, over by 10.30. Breakfast was excellent but offered 08.30 to 10.00 and we would have liked an earlier start.

We spent a week here with our dog and had a really wonderful time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, our dog was made so welcome & made himself completely at home! The room was nice, clean and very comfortable. They keep a great pint - 6X was delicious - and food was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable, relaxed stay….thank you. Sarah, Andrew & Hobbes
Nice room at reasonable cost.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. As we like a big room, even though there were only two of us we booked the family room. It had a double bed and two singles. The furniture in the room appeared to be antique. This is not a complaint as we liked it. It was in keeping with the pub and the town itself. The beds were comfy. The bathroom (shower room) was clean and fairly modern, and there were sufficient towels. No conditioner provided though, but there was a kettle for making a cup of tea or coffee. The young French girl who cooked breakfast for us was very polite and friendly and the breakfast was absolutely fine. The pub itself had a nice outside seating area and seemed to be very popular. The only possible problem would be parking; there wasn't any. We managed to find a last spot after 5pm in front of the hotel, but you could only park there for up to two hours; not a problem for us as we were only staying one night.
All in all very good value and a pleasant stay.

Stayed a couple of nights for our wedding anniversary. Lovely pub with lots of character. Staff friendly and made you feel very at home. Great they are dog friendly and they were brilliant with our rescue who can be a nervous grump with other dogs. Lovely breakfast. Thanks for a great stay. Right in the centre. Nearby forest great for dog walks. You can park outside for a couple of hours (then between 6pm and 8am) or longer stay cars parks for £6.70 for the day/overnight. Lots of lovely pubs and wateries and locals were very friendly.
The Lamb rescued us and cheered us up

We booked to stay here on the day due to the family member we were to stay with got pinged. They were helpful and we took the last room number 2, a twin room in the stable block overlooking the courtyard. The room was a decent size and the beds really comfy, very clean and with tea and coffee making, and en suite facilities. The decor and arrangements were good, although the en suite looked a little tired. Parking was on the street and we were lucky to get a space on the square close by.
We also ate in the pub, which feels like a ‘proper’ local, and the front of the pub obviously had regulars while the back of the pub was quieter and there was masses of space in the courtyard with big screens for sport.
The food was really good, especially the Tapas on the menu. We had a fabulous salad with parades bravos, squid, chorizo, and affogato and crumble for pudding, with 2 rounds of drinks each. Excellent stuff. Breakfast was also good the following morning, straightforward and efficiently delivered.
For such a last minute booking and after the disappointment of travelling to but not being able to stay. The quality of the food and stay did make up for it.
