Very nice B&B

Avaliou em 27 de outubro de 2019

Our hostess was very nice, agreeing to meet us at an hour outside her normal reception times. She was very welcoming and helpful. The room we stayed in was nicer than what you see in the photos. It was large yet charming. The courtyard was a great place to have a quiet breakfast, with lovely pastries and crepes made by the hostess. Having a private garage also made staying in this convenient location much easier. It can be hard to find since the sign on the door is tiny. Look for the grey wall and door on the west side of the street.

Central, comfortable and very quiet

Avaliou em 18 de outubro de 2016

I love places with character and I wasn't disappointed at all. From the moment that we stepped beyond those big green doors, it was surprise after surprise, good ones!! It is not like sleeping in an hotel but going home! We were very warmly welcomes by Caroline, the maid who patiently explained the system of doors and keys, the breakfast in the morning. There was water, tea and coffees in the room. Each rooms have TV and beautiful en suite bathrooms. With only 3 rooms in the house, it felt like home. There is a quiet patio at the front with cushions and sunbeds to relax and rest from a day in busy Marseille. We felt like the landlady loved beautiful objects and decoration, the flat is full of interesting objects and bibelots which make the character of the house. Breakfast is copious, French style: choice of bread, croissant and cake with several jams and yoghurt. We met the charming landlady who helped us with make our way back to the airport with useful tips. Only, one thing, we couldn't pay by credit card which might be annoying for some people. We will be back with no hesitation. Best place in Marseille if you like a homey place during your stay or vacations.

Comfy Small B&B in Vieux Port

Avaliou em 2 de agosto de 2014

Small B&B, maybe three or four rooms, in a remodeled two story home. Well appointed and not at all funky. We had an over 35sqm room, an en suite shower and toilet, plus a large closet space as we entered the apartment. There was no fridge, which was a bit inconvenient. The propriétaire was kind and helpful. Breakfast in the open courtyard was a croissant, tartine, peach, yogurt, coffee, and a cake, actually a bit much for our style, but Brits or Americans might want a hot breakfast. The free WiFi was good. It could not be in a better location from our point of view, right in the Vieux Port, quiet, a short walk to the city center, the more diverse parts of Marseille, etc. We would stay there again.

Convenient & Safe B&B

Avaliou em 6 de novembro de 2012

When we arrived at this B&B, we thought we might have gone to a wrong place. After talking to the landlady through intercom, we walked through two secured gates then entered the B&B. The B&B was very artistically decorated, and modernly remodeled. You could see pictures of this B&B by checking the link below, http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/les-chambres-de-l-abbaye-marseille.html?aid=336408&label=postbooking_confemail The location of this B&B was very convenient. It was walking distance to St. Victor Abby, marina, downtown, restaurants, and bus stops. There was a corner grocery store nearby, we bought grapes, wine and others all reasonably priced. We had breakfast at 8:00 AM, one day in the patio and one day indoor. Both times were lovely experiences. The landlady provided plenty of bread/toast, and the grapes were fresh and sweet, except there was no refill of orange juice. The landlady was a little reluctant to provide 2nd pot of coffee. Our room was upstairs which was spacious and comfortable. A couple of things: the bathroom and toilet were separate, a little inconvenient but manageable. The stairs were narrow in some part, need to be careful especially when carrying heavy luggages up or down. In the B&B listing, it mentioned there was free parking. Although there was a garage, but it was impossible to park our car in there. We ended up paying 22 euros a day parking at the public parking right across from this B&B's garage. Due to mostly "one way" streets in Marseille, be careful of where you turned.

Ravissant et au calme !

Une chambre d'hôtes joliment décorée, confortable, à deux pas du Vieux-Port ! Bon petit-déjeuner. La propriétaire n'était pas là lors de notre séjour mais elle est restée très disponible pour nous aider.
