Poor quality, needs a good clean and tidy up!

Let’s get the good points out of the way first. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful, the location is great for seeing Metz and it has free parking… I booked this hotel for one night without my usual diligence and research, I got what I deserved! After being directed to the local free parking and negotiating the tight entrance ramps I was less than comfortable with the surroundings. It seemed that the car park wasn’t very secure, litter strewn on level -1 and seemingly used as a toilet. This was reinforced by the stairs to ground level which required the holding of breath, it really was that bad. As above, the welcome from staff was great but on exiting the lift to our room on the first floor (106) there was an unpleasant odour. The room was a decent size, a bit sparse, very warm with one portable fan but the real issue was the carpet. Black stains that looked like ground in dirt or gum and other dubious looking stains in several other places. The bathroom was clean but the rail and attachment to hold the flexi shower head was missing from its mountings. The separate toilet was in a small cupboard just inside the door, again it was clean. The entrance lobby had what looked like long-standing cobwebs above head height, I’m guessing that the spiders are permanent guests. The bed was averagely comfortable and the linen clean. The wall paper appeared damp above the skirting boards and was discoloured. It isn’t the cheapest Metz option and really was presented poorly, there isn’t an excuse in a modern city for low standard accommodation like this.

Hotel in a great location for walking into the centre of Metz Arrived late evening and had difficulty finding the hotel but one call to the receptionist who spoke perfect English guided us to the hotel car park which is very close to the hotel The room cost was low so we’re not sure what to expect. Room was old and had a slight odour. The hallway smelled of urine and the wall covering was pealing from the wall. In places the carpet in the hallway was holed.

The one star is for the Breakfast
Avaliou em 5 de outubro de 2019
First the good things:- the staff are very helpful under trying circumstances, and the lady who does the breakfast is an absolute star. And now the rest:- the hotel must have been wonderful 40-50 years ago. But now to say it is fading is an understatement. The whole hotel has paper pealing off the walls of the corridors. Carpets in the bedrooms are badly marked ( I was informed ' they are not dirty' but they looked terrible). We changed rooms, but that was only slightly better. The bathroom looked it was close to being on fire, as the wall is scorched black. This is the worst hotel for accommodation for over 20 years. Do not be fooled by the picture for the hotel, the picture is for the theatre around the corner.

The worst Hotel in Metz

This place has just continually gone down hill in the years i have been staying here , the central location and free parking just kept me coming back and making excuses to myself about the place but my last stay just finished me off forever . Firstly booked 3 weeks in advance and asked for a particular room as i new the aircon should be working and the bathroom doesn't usually flood when showering in that room , checked in and was told we are full , that room is not free . So got put on a 3rd floor attic room with no aircon and inside temp was 35 degrees , open a window and the sound of passing cars and drunks at night makes sleep impossible , asked to change and was told we are full - not possible , went on trip advisor and there were rooms avaliable to be booked ??? . Gave up in the end . Add the almost non existent WIFI together with the family of pigeons living on / in my skylight , whose evening sounds made jet laged sleep impossible but here's the kicker after the first night a family of rats moved into one of the walls and while i like interaction with animals - i think rats in a hotel room just take it that one step too far . This place should be avoided at all costs - it is the worst Hotel in Metz
