Caesars has gone WAY downhill
We exclusively stay at Caesar's properties. After a terrible stay at the Flamingo in Vegas last month, I swore off Caesar's properties but since we had never been to Tunica we gave the Horseshoe a shot. The lobby was hard to find as the normal hotel check-in parking was blocked off. After going in through the front and asking security for directions, we finally realized you have to drive behind the property and utilize the parking deck which isn't super convenient when you're loading/unloading luggage. We got checked in and went to the room and couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights. There's no overhead lighting and the lamps don't provide much light so the room is very dark. We opened the window to provide more light and as you can see from the "view" it didn't help. The hallway was loud and the hose dangling in front of the window banged on it ALL NIGHT LONG. The bathroom was visibly dirty and the ceiling had mold spots all over it. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. We got very little sleep over the course of our 2 night stay. We decided to write off the room as a loss and headed to the casino. The slots are VERY tight. We thought it very convenient that the machines had the ability to order drinks directly from them until we realized it took 10+ minutes to receive one and they were definitely not worth waiting for. I don't think they put any alcohol in them at all. The drink button didn't work on my husband's machine so I ordered him one and the server took my drink and said they're only allowed to bring 1 per guest at a time. After explaining that the machine my husband was on right next to mine didn't work, she still took my drink. The whole experience with the room, watered down drinks and rude staff solidified the Caesar's experience for us. We finished our stay at the horseshoe but walked next door to the Gold Strike to eat and gamble. We're MGM fans now. Don't waste your time or money to stay at a place that doesn't value their guests experience.
Average is the word of this review.
I have traveled all over the U.S., mostly on vacation, and have stayed at several properties owned by this company. Tunica was the picture of average. Most of the amenities are closed (pool, sauna etc.) as is the buffet (due to Covid-19 I'm sure.) The staff was less than friendly, although the security guards were VERY friendly. the rooms were well apportioned but were dated. i did enjoy the oversized tub and the large restroom. The restaurant selection was slim pickings. Many of the restaurants were open for dinner only (usually from 5:00p.m. till 11:00 p.m.) which means that to eat at any other time for dinner you are limited to sandwiches. There is no shuttle to take to visit any other properties so unless you drive or rent a care, you are stuck on that property and the neighboring MGM property. The jack Binion Steak House was the one bright point of our trip. The food was top notch and of great quality. The service was lagging somewhat but overall it was a great meal.
Gambling trip
Was disappointed with the gambling experience, the staff if no longer friendly and bordered on being rude. Your handling of the COVID virus makes it near impossible to have a good time. Love the Horseshoe but won't be back until gambling is back to normal, no masks, no forced hand washing, no excessive restrictions etc.
Disappointed
I’m a total rewards member. I have been gambling with them for almost 8 years and have stayed in bunch of their casinos but horse shoe in tunica disappointed me. I usually don’t pay for rooms but their rooms are 70$ + and if I were to compare them it would match motel 6 with fridge. Carpets seem like they are not vacuumed and dirty. Closet has scratches. View from window is not appealing at all. Old fashion air conditioner Old fashion mattress. I had some sort of water wet spot besides the night stand every time I had to stand up I felt it. Rooms are not insulated properly, even if you turn on the tv you can hear guests having sex. The biggest reason I decided to put a review is because when I went to take a shower in the morning I surprisingly found dried used towels hanging on the bathroom rack and when I handed the keys back to the front desk I told her about it and it didn’t seem like it bothered her at all barely even looked at me. Casino games are fine Restaurants are nice Casino workers are professional That’s it.
A bright spot in difficult times
With the Covid Pandemic everyone has been gripped with fear and a lot of people aren't traveling So when it came time to visit relatives in Tunica we decided to book rooms at Horseshoe It would be around the corner from our family and of course we love to gamble Immediately upon arrival we were put at ease about concerns of traveling The staff was so friendly and professional pointing out the procedures and precautions made for our safety When we got to our room We Noticed the SEALED FOR OUR PROTECTION tape which really made a positive impact On the gambling floor There were lots of smiles and greetings and I had the opportunity to reconnect with Yolonda a cocktail waitress that remembered me and has always been so nice to me and my mother when I used to bring her It was a highlight of my trip and the more time we spent at Horseshoe we could forget about what was going on in the world What an exceptional experience at your Venue!!!
