Really?
Dirty towels , black mold on the shower curtain and lamp shade , all the lamps are rusted and old , Furniture is old and scratched up , needs a paint job by someone else because the last person that did it did a horrible job and basically just threw paint on anything , even the sticker on the wall lol . It is not worth the price you pay . I have been in better looking motel 6's and we all know how bad they suck . Do your self a favor and go somewhere else
Will not EVER stay here again
Rodeway Inn in Columbia, MS- The only reason I gave 1 star was because the bed sheets and pillows were clean and comfortable to sleep in. *Our first room was Room 125 mildew around AC..an obvious leak..toilet would not stop running..pictures hanging on walls were completely filthy..key didn’t work twice..had to go back and forth to the desk..she came and it didn’t work for her to begin with but she finally got it..asked for another room because of overpowering mildew smell. They had AirWick fresheners plugged into the wall trying to mask smell..The young worker (Jennifer?) said she didn’t see any mildew..told her I was not looking to get sick..she called her boss and then moved us to room 127..she then tried to move us to 110 because of a missing headboard issue in 127..I went to look at 110 and told them no because it had a mildew smell also..They also had AirWick fresheners plugged into the wall trying to mask that smell.she came back and said she would rent us 127..we left to go find food and came back to realize the AC was not working..by then another worker had clocked in..this lady was very accommodating..didn’t catch her name..she called the boss and he told her how to reset it and told her if it stopped working to move us..it stopped working..so after 4 hours of being in this hotel 10:30pm by this time) and having every room with a problem we thought we finally found a good one.. Once in Room 222 Came in to trash on floor..a green Coke lid on the floor telling me the rooms do not get cleaned.. we found that tv remote didn’t work..fan on bathroom never quit ..Screw in wall of closet snagged my clothes..by then I was tired of trying to make them correct things for that 82$ charge..so I went to take a shower..Shower curtain was moldy..I gagged..it was same room we stayed in last year where they had to reset AC to make work...didn’t complain just dealt with it til checkout..took shower curtain down so they couldn’t miss it again..The advertised indoor pool that we were looking forward to was slimy looking and milky looking. I have an in-ground pool at home so I know nasty dead algae when I see it..the halls were heat stroke inducing hot with no AC source that worked in them....got up and headed down to breakfast shortly before 8..apple juice, orange juice, coffee, & eggs were all empty..no fruit..only choices were waffle sausage, cereal, and bagels..she told another lady she didn’t know how to replenish the breakfast foods..the only positives I found were the water pressure in 222 shower and comfortable & clean beds..although when we were about to check out we drug bed covers into the floor in hopes that they’d clean them and found the bed skirts were grossly filthy..at checkout we asked for a small discount t for all our troubles and the bosses wife said she would “discuss it with the boss”...As we stood waiting for checkout to be done we had two other guests with the same mold and mildew complaints..Jennifer was obviously not meant for front desk work..she informed us of that fact herself..as if we couldn’t tell from her attitude toward us..even after we told her we knew it wasn’t her fault...she took criticism personally..maybe because she was the housekeeper later that day..so the filth left I cleaned was actually on her..we will never give this hotel another chance..and I will blast my photos far and wide on social media to let others know not to stay there either!
Would give it no stars if possible
This motel first of all has a mold or dampness issue at least on lower floors, we were just there this past week and noticed spray air fresheners at lobby desk and almost on every ceiling wall near each room, when we walked in our room the air conditioner had condensation and smelled terrible of a musty damp smell. We actually febreezed the room and also bought ourselves another plug in air freshener, every day our parents room and our room was super damp, even my husbands pills that were in the suitcase was damp. The main issue is there is a major issue with the manager of this property. There was blood and urine stains on our sheets that we saw the 2nd night we were there, we ripped off all the sheets and blankets and took to the front, next morning talked to the owners young teenager manning the front desk told him the problem asked for a manager and had to talk to the manager on the phone. Explained that this is not acceptable, was told from the manager that they have new staff and said to me so what do you expect me to do. really?? You can get diseases from this and even if you can’t, if I was the owner I would have offered a refund for the nights stay due to us sleeping on bloody sheets. Also, my mom is handicapped and can’t get in a tub very well and asked for a handicap room which the hotel had a picture of a walk in handicap shower room. I was told that there was only 1 room like that booked for 2 weeks, and the handicap room they offered had a much higher tub that she would have to try and get into. We noticed the regular rooms had a lower height tub then the handicap which they had to switch to. I advise that I will be reporting this to choice hotels with the blood stained sheets and will also be reporting the hotel to the American disabilities act for the hotel not providing handicap accessible rooms. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, DUE TO BLOOD STAINED SHEETS, NO PROPER HANDICAP ROOMS. AND WITH THE DAMP MOLD AIR MAY EVEN GET LEGIONAIRES DISEASE. I Am hopeful that this hotel will be shut down or at least fined greatly due to the incompentance of the manager not caring about these issues, oh and our guest room did not have a phone or alarm clock, or book showing the channels on the TV but our parents room did, I did also bring this up to the front desk lady the night we took the sheets to her. Oh and no saves in the rooms either we had to carry our cameras and iPads wherever we went.
This location hasn't been a Rodeway very long, still very nice
When I saw this hotel was a Rodeway, I was a little leery. It's more of a bottom tier workers motel, in my mind. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, smelled fresh (no perfume or musty smell) and my stay was nice. I classify low to medium price hotels (such as Rodeway) as good for me and my co-workers on business or nice enough that I'd bring my wife. This location was wife worthy!
This Motel Would Have Gotten A Higher Rating Except For A Security Issue.
As mentioned in the review title, this motel would have gotten a higher rating except for a serious security issue. Because I am on a bicycle tour, I was directed to use the door in the back. This door should have been pass key enabled but the card reader was broken and the housing box was taped up. There were no cameras (outside the door, in the stairwell that connected the outside door to the two floors, and no cameras in the hallways). Any stranger could come into the motel through the back door and nobody in the office would know. This is what happened to me. Around 8:40 pm, somebody started to knock on my room door. I hadn't told anybody that I was at the motel, There was a peephole in the door, so I was able see who was in the hall without opening the door. Looking into the peephole, I saw a unknown lady working on her smart phone. I called out to her that she had the wrong room. I watched her turn to her left and start walking down the hallway back to the back door. For all I know, she could have been a local prostitute. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was a little too high (the top of the bedspread came up to my waist). It was so high that there should have been a foot stool The mattress was too soft for me and I had a struggle getting out of bed. The was a large flat screen tv and a strong wifi signal. The breakfast that they served was adequate. I couldn't tell you about the pool because that room was dark and closed.
