Boa localização, atrás da estação de metrô Berry, o ônibus 747 que vem do aeroporto para nessa estação. Quarto com carpete, cama boa e chuveiro também. Quarto limpo. Check in somente as 16:00h porém eles guardaram nossas malas e fomos andando pra old port, chinatown e notre dame.
BED BUGS! BEWARE!
Booked a room here with my husband for a long weekend Thursday, March 5 to Sunday, March 8. We abruptly left on Saturday night (3/7). On Saturday morning I woke up with what looked like bug bites on my chest/shoulder area. I didn't think much of it until I started noticing more bites. I did a search around the mattress and found a dried up bed bug and gave it to the front desk. He immediately switched rooms for us to a different floor. Needless to say, I couldn't sit in the new room either, so my husband and I hit the road for NYC at 6pm. We asked for just one nights refund to the front desk and he advised us to call booking.com because that's where we booked the hotel. Lots of back and forth between booking.com and empire suites. Eventually we get a hold of the supervisor of the hotel who says he would've given us a free breakfast if we had stayed. (NO WAY would I have eaten there if I couldn't sleep there!) So my husband calls the following day to talk to the GM. She says they did not find any bed bugs in the room even though we had given a bug to the front desk. I not only found a dead bug but also remnants of bed bugs (dry blood specs). The GM says how did we get bit on Saturday when we were there since Thursday. (Through a simple google search, beg bug bites can start to appear 2 weeks after the actual bite). The GM claims that she also cannot refund us anything and that we would have to speak with the owner. It has now been over 3 weeks and we have yet to hear anything back. Highly recommend to stay somewhere else. I have photos of bites.
one of the worst hotels ever
this is one of the worst hotels i have been in because of the following reasons: first, the security deposit for one room for a two night stay is $250; the front desk clerk (woman) on the morning of dec 23 was very rude and should not be in the hospitality industry; second, amenities such as shampoo etc were not replenished and housekeeping were supposedly “not in yet”; third, the shower was not working properly; fourth, there was hige crack in the other hotel room we booked; fifth, there was only a shower liner and no shower curtains. I would have let some things slide because in fairness the front desk clerk on the eve of dec 22 was nice. however the rudeness of the front desk on dec 23 was really unacceptable because all i wanted was proof that the hold of $500 was reversed and she wouldnt give it.
Another great Montreal trip
I have no idea why this place has such a low star rating. On the outside of the building it says it's four stars. It's a proper solid Hotel building with really nice clean and comfortable rooms. If you need a hotel in or near the village, Les Suites Labelle, The Governor or the former Lord Berri (now Fairfield Inn) would be the most obvious choices. However a lot of times all three of them are quite expensive. If those three aren't within your budget the Empire Suites seems like a very obvious choice. All I can think is that most of the reviewers didn't really want to stay in the village and wouldn't have been happy in any village Hotel. I've stayed in nearly a dozen village hotels and this is one of the best.
I’ve stayed in many hotels in beautiful Montreal but this place is disgusting. I checked in and I’m checking out immediately. The 250$ security deposit is real. This hotel is falsely advertised as 3.5 stars on Hotwired it’s a 2 star at best.
