Hotel for STAY but not for ENJOY

Staff proficiency have been improving, but still not at a standard of an international 5-star brand. Cleaniness was just average, missing some details. I am not sure if they had inspector or supervisor after every cleaning. Some dirt was remained inside the toilet, and an obvious piece of dust on the table of the mini-bar area. I get an upgrade to suite with extra charge. Room was huge, bed was comfortable. The Interior was just a traditional Hilton hotel, not a luxurious or fancy decor. Good enough with its price (weekday price). Facilities was limited in scale, a small size gym and an outdoor pool shared with another hotel. About the happy hour at the lounge, limited food variety, some wine and liquour. Only 50 mins stay for each table. Breakfast was okay with adequate food variety at an even quality. Last thing to complain about the late check out to 2p.m., but the room key was not set to 2. I need to get down to the reception after I found out I could not access into the room. The receptionist said the key was not set to 2 (even you have late checkout?). As I spend some time in and out, up and down for the keycard, I was late for 14 mins leaving my room and I got 2 calls for "kind reminder". This make me feel a bit unhappy as this is not all my fault.

Just out of the transparency, I am a Hilton Honors member. Coming to Taiwan, I decided to try this property. Supper close to the High Speed Rail, MRT, Bus station(s), which means it is easy to get to everywhere in Taiwan. The Hotel itself is super nice, clean, staff members are super nice. Restaurants are awesome. Compare the price we have in the US, you won’t get this kind of 6 start accommodation in the US with the price you are paying. I will definitely staying at this location in the future.

I have spent 4 nights during my business trip here, it was the best accommodation experience I have ever had over the years. Hotel is clean and hotel team members are tentative with the maximum level of hospitality of Taiwanese. Love Taiwan and impress with Hilton Taipei Sinban a lot.

Excellent rooms and friendly staff

The hotel has spacious and modern rooms that seem to have been recently renovated. Being a diamond member I was fortunate to have been upgraded to a higher floor that provides a bird eye view of the city. The breakfast spread was excellent and the executive lounge was a great welcome at the end of the day after exploring the city. The hotel is within walking distance to the metro station, highspeed railway, and the main bus terminal in Banqiao. I would definitely repeat this hotel when I return back to Taipei.

Issues at the “5 star” Taipei Hilton

Upon arrival, being gold members, we were upgraded to an upper floor room. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 kids, and our kids needed pillows. We called the front desk to request 2 pillows but said they only had 1, which is odd for a 5 star hotel. As soon as I get off the line with the front desk, my daughter screams because she stepped on a pile of cooked vegetables that wasn't cleaned properly before we had arrived! We call the front desk to report this and the lady I spoke to laughed as if it were a joke! To compensate, they move us to a SMALLER room a few floors up. Unbelievable situation for a “5 star” hotel.
