My wife and I love this hotel. Situated on the waters edge with lovely views, this elegant hotel is warm & welcoming in every way. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff treat you like they really care. The hotel amenities are excellent. We live the mineral pools and hotel restaurants. We love it here and highly recommend you visit while enjoying Victoria & Oak Bay.
Oak Bay Beach Hotel.........a Stunning Seaside Paradise.

Nestled on the shores of the Pacific Ocean near Victoria B.C., in a pristine stretch of costal property, is the lavish boutique hotel.....the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. The facility overlooks the Juan de Fuca Straits and offers spectacular views of snow-capped Mount Baker. The hotel is a hop-step-and-jump from the quaint boutique shops of Oak Bay Village and features world class services such as mineral baths, fine dining, theatre, and adventures that range from scenic bike rides to salmon fishing.
Designed as a modern take on a Tudor-styled manor, the Oak Bay Beach Hotel has been completely reconstructed incorporating architectural touches of the previous building merged with stunning modern features. The lobby has the feel of an elegant English manor house with rich wood panelling and a striking floor framed by oak. Traditional decor includes leather chesterfield sofas, armchairs with blue velvet seats..........while other public places are rich in modernistic accoutrements. It is this mix of old and new that gives the Oak Bay Beach Hotel it's distinctive personality.
My sea-view suite was a melange of elegant architectural items and modern in-suite features. Dark wood furniture and a black leather bench with a cozy 'Dream' bed rendered a homey feel to the space. The room was capped off with a fireplace and a balcony where I was treated to a pod of frisky orca's swimming their hearts out. The bath was marble clad, with heated floors, a soaker tub and a roomy, separate, rainforest shower.
Ah, the Boathouse Spa, an award winning wellness Mecca featuring treatments that incorporate seaweed and marine clay. The Spa facility encompasses 4 treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure rooms, eucalyptus steam room, fitness centre. heated salt-water pool and 3 heated outdoor mineral pools.
Oak Bay's Italian slanted restaurant 'Faro', specializes in handcrafted wood stone-fired pizza, salads, cocktails and local wines. It's inviting atmosphere is topped off with floor-to-ceiling ocean views. The charming Snug Pub is an iconic drinkery in Victoria. It offers upscale pub fare serving the likes of halibut tempura , seafood chowder and of course....classical fish & chips.
So, if you would like to treat yourself to a distinctive ocean side stay, where you can splash out in a heated pool adjacent to minerals pools and a spa.......then try the...

Lovely hotel but very overpriced

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend in late August 2021. We chose Oak Bay because we wanted to stay a little further outside downtown Victoria, and the high ratings and reviews, plus waterfront location, convinced us that the incredibly high nightly rate (averaging $850 CAD after taxes and fees) for a “best view” boutique suite was perhaps justified.
In hindsight, we feel ripped off. The “suite” was cramped, worn, and dated - maybe worth $350 CAD at a maximum (and that’s mainly due to the view). There was an ice machine right outside our room that was rumbling so loudly it could be heard from the elevator all the way down the hall (but surprisingly, and thankfully, not from inside our room).
Everything else at the hotel receives high marks - the pools and view were lovely, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food at Snug Pub and Faro were very good — but we simply cannot fathom how the hotel can justify charging Four Seasons rates for what is essentially a Courtyard Marriott quality room.
We would return, but never again during the peak season, when prices are triple what the accommodations actually warrant.
Weekend with Girlfriends!

We arrived and were cheerfully greeted by the door person who kindly directed us to the underground parking. Our friend had already checked us in, so she had the room key. Our room was beautiful! On the main floor with a patio! Heated bathroom floors! The beds were so comfy and the kitchenette was perfect.
The mineral pool was so relaxing: afternoon and late evening! In true Westcoast style, orcas swam by and the sun was shining. We were even treated to a double rainbow. Check out was easy, and I felt safe with the COVID restrictions in effect in all areas. We are planning another girls night in the spring and will stay at the Oak Beach Hotel again.
