Rogue car park rip off
We visited pitlochry for a walking break in late October and ate in the hotel with a group of friends who were staying there on our first evening. The meal was lovely and the service was excellent. We arranged to collect a friend on Sunday 1st of November and drove into the hotel car park advertising Fishers Hotel car park. There was a long queue at reception checking out some people having a heated discussion with the receptionist over an issue of dissatisfaction with the hotel.Once our friend was ready we left the hotel and drove off. We had been in the foyer for around 30 minutes. Several days later we received a parking demand letter for £100 and visited the hotel to speak to the manager to have it resolved. He claimed the hotel had no jurisdiction over the car park as it was on private land and wouldn't help. Ive become aware that several guests have been caught out and received the same letter, and received no sympathy from the hotel management. The system is clearly wrong when guests are treated so shabbily and have made genuine errors ....not passing tourists parking randomly to visit the shops as the manager suggested to me. I wont put anyone off visiting Pitlochry but it leaves a bad taste and we are appealing the charge and hope others do the same. Fishers needs to review its policy and adjust its attitude if it wishes to retain guests under present circumstances.

My wife an i stayed for five nights half board and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent and the food very good. The only down side was having to pay extra for parking. We used the hotel for a base for travelling around the country
Absolutely horrible - disgusting rooms and even worse service.
I'm not usually one for leaving reviews good or bad, but after staying here I felt obligated to warn people of not only how disgusting and dilapidated the rooms were, the non-existent staff and the SCAM that is the car park. Firstly, the car parking is extortionate and is handled by an independent third party but upon checking in the staff never felt obliged to tell me that there was a charge for parking there and our booking never stated this either. I then received a letter a couple of weeks later asking me to pay £60 for parking illegally, I raised the issue with the hotel to which the GM more or less said it's not our problem as we don't manage the car park. Then there's the rooms. On our ascent and journey to our rooms at the back of the hotel it was similar to walking through the hotel in the Shining, but not as well kept. Radiators hanging off, holes in the walls and the aroma of a pub toilet. The room itself was tiny, the curtain rail was hanging on by a thread and was just overall depressing. The restaurant, equally as bad as everything else. Food was edible, but clearly hot from the microwave, the atmosphere and decor was that of a hotel harking back to its hay-days and failing. Overall avoid this place if possible, and if you are needing to park the train station offers all day parking for £1.50 instead of this hotels idea of £10 a night.
Bit of a let down :(
Stayed here about 2 years ago and loved it, so got a voucher from itison. We then payed 40 to upgrade to one of the best rooms and really shouldn't have bothered! We stayed in room 219 and it was really tired looking and well used. Last time we had a massive TV etc this time it was a small TV and cheap kettle. We were told the only further upgrade was the special occasion room but that was booked. Dinner was nice and staff were really welcoming. Everything felt very well done and safe with the coving procedures. Breakfast was just bleugh , wasn't freshly cooked. Hard sausages and bacon. Think we will try mckays up the road and pay for the upgrade there.
Overnight Stay
We stayed here for one night for Enchanted Forest , although cancelled due to Covid,we did arrive early but told no room access until 3pm, had a lovely walk around town,on returning reception said we have upgraded you to a deluxe room , room very large and warm lovely view of gardens at back, the bathroom needs a lot of attention, bedroom was ok, plenty coffee / tea in room ,walls very thin had to knock on next door to ask them to quieten down music and very loud conversations from early evening until 11ockock , breakfast was good , overall for the price for one night through booking .com was ok, but hotel does need a makeover in parts. Restaurant staff for breakfast were presentable and present.
