We were blown away by this hotel from the minute we walked in. The highest ceilings we have ever seen! A beautiful lobby with morning sun and many places to sit and enjoy it. The desk staff was amazing, even with a big wedding contingent coming in. There's an ATM in the lobby, and a coffee cafe next door.
The elevator is state-of-the art. Just hit the button for your floor, and it will tell you which door is about to open and whisk you up there. We stayed in lovely room 611. King bed, huge windows looking out over the river, those high old-factory ceilings again, a massive walk-in shower. A great kitchen area and a LOT of reading lamps everywhere.
The couch was uncomfortable to sit on. This was our only sad find. It was a fold-out probably, BUT we brought out the pillows from the bedroom and made it comfy. We were planning to go out to dinner before our show at the amazing Coronado Theater, but we couldn't face going out just yet. We went down to the hotel restaurant instead, and were surprised at how huge IT was. Also with a view to the river, and a giant event space right next to it. Nothing going on tonight, though.
James was fast and a great server. We had cocktails that were perfect, with a good dose of alcohol. Then we had excellent calamari and I had the halibut, which was perfectly cooked, with grilled carrots and wild rice with corn puree. This meal said Autumn to me in so many ways. Omelets at breakfast in the first floor restaurant were a sight to see, tasted great and were served with a smile. The kitchen staff and the bartenders are magicians! After dinner, you can walk out to the park on the river behind the hotel.
Parking was easy on the weekend. Big free lot across the street if the hotel lot is full. Downtown Rockford is trying to come back, and we enjoyed checking out the Main Street District both at night and the next morning.
Even with a large wedding group coming in, we heard no noise and didn't have any trouble with big crowds of people anywhere.
It was a great trip overall to celebrate our 25th anniversary with a Boz Scaggs show. Keep doing what you are doing, Embassy Suites. I'm so glad we spent many happy hours with all of you!
A great new hotel you will be satisfied to stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms and the cleanliness. Very spacious and easy to navigate. The elevator is state of the art. It is FAST! Takes you to your floor in no time. The hotel is just newly opened and 12 story building with combination of new modern construction. They did a good job with retaining some of the old sections on which the building was reconstructed. The structure is a solid old concrete type system. Breakfast is great as usual with Embassy suit. My wife always want embassy suite anywhere we go primarily because of the breakfast! You will love this place. Excellent customer service too.

Beautiful new property in downtown Rockford. Gorgeous lobby and friendly front desk associates. Would recommend this property for anyone traveling to downtown rockford. Lower level bar has amazing rustic pizzas. Strongly recommend the Sicilian Pepperoni.
Nia, made the experience memorable with their top notch customer service. A simple text to request towels is simply fantastic.

We had several rooms for a wedding party; this hotel could not have been more accommodating. The outskirts of the city are slightly dusty, however, if you are looking fror above average accommodations, this is it. Brand new/modern, at a great price.

Loved this place! So great for Rockford to have a nice hotel like this. The room was beautiful, restaurants were great and the staff was so accommodating. The actual hotel was stunning. I will definitely be back!
