After checking in and immediately opening the door to my room it was obvious that the room had not been serviced by housekeeping. Pizza boxes in the trash. Sheets all a mess. Wet and used bathroom towels. I approached the front desk and they said “Youre the second person to say that today. That room was supposed to be cleaned yesterday.” I have never in my entire life been checked into a room that hasn’t been cleaned. Fine, they gave me a new room. But the amount of hair that I discovered on the bed sheets in the new room was absolutely unsanitary… almost as if housekeeping just remakes the beds over and over after each guest without changing all of the sheets. Unfortunately I did not see the hair until the day I checked out but it was not my hair. I have long blonde hair… the hair I saw was short and black.

Good location, big rooms, but not kept very clean

Stayed here one night with spouse and 2 kids, in a 2-room King Suite (gives kids a separate sleeping area), in late March on the way through town. Definitely both positives and negatives here... THE GOOD: --The room was in fact quite big, even knowing it was a suite. Plenty of room all around. --Rate was OK given the room type, location, etc. --Location of the hotel is pretty ideal for the main strip in Ruidoso, right in the heart of everything. THE BAD: --The pool area was just bad in every way. The hot tub was barely warm, let alone hot. There was trash laying around here and there, the floors looked pretty dirty, and there was quite a bit of peeling paint and staining on the ceiling and walls. One of our kids went to use the bathroom in the pool area and found it to be... well let's just say it was a disgusting scene in there. The CAUSE of the scene wasn't the hotel's fault, but I am pretty sure it had been that way for quite a bit of time. Just poorly maintained in every way. --The room was not super-clean on arrival either. Nothing terrible or gross, just kinda dusty and looked like it wasn't cleaned well. --Small thing, but, a lack of electrical outlets too. Everything else I would term as "OK". It isn't necessarily a bad choice to stay at, especially if they can get a little better at keeping things clean. If they can do that I would probably stay here again, but I have no way of knowing if this is typical for them or not.

Poor service and Rude

Rude and Lame customer service, upon arrival we had to wait 15 mins for someone to get to the desk to check us in, we waited over an hour for them to tell us when our rooms will be ready….no answer from them. Everyone arriving after us got their room keys. Kids were tired and hungry from 10 hour drive but they would hold our luggage so we could go eat and come back.

This is a great location. It’s just a couple blocks from the main shops and you can absolutely walk when the winds aren’t blowing you away. It’s at the back door to Lincoln County Grill and a couple blocks from Starbucks (!!!). When we got here, there were literally deer walking the street in front of us. Pretty cool. The hotel isn’t the newest or probably the most immaculate on the block (just being honest to keep it real), but the rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. They have free breakfast, but we went next door to the amazing Lincoln County Grill so we didn’t try it. There’s a dining area in the lobby with tables, which is nice if you pick up pizza down the street at Cafe Rio and bring it back for dinner. If you grab takeout, it’s good to be able to sit at a table and eat and not be stuck eating in your room. There are fridges and microwaves, also convenient. Don’t forget the free wifi, it’s not slow like a lot of hotels. If you’ve got pets, you’re in luck! They allow them and you’re directly across from a giant park area. No walking the block awkwardly hoping your pet goes on the sidewalk. We came to Ruidoso at one of the busiest times of the year-Christmas/New Years week. Who knew? After getting here and realizing one room wouldn’t be enough, the awesome front desk rep, Steve, helped me out to arrange for us to have the arranging room next door. It took some juggling a very packed schedule but he made it happen. He has been awesome and given us tons of scoop and tips around town! Cool walking in from the day and being greeted like they know you. The maintenance staff was super great too. Nice when locals are friendly and helpful! We will definitely come back here and recommend it to a friend.

This hotel is centrally located and is at walking distance from excellent shops, bars, etc. the rooms and facilities were excellent, topped off with a indoor heated pool. The front desk agent Steve was of great assistance and made our check in experience smooth and pleasant. Great stay and great staff! I highly recommend!
