Terrible customer experience. Hid behind small print on two occasions. Once we tried to book using a voucher. Only they do not let us book for the dates we asked. Zero flexibility from the hotel. Second time around I was in contact with someone with Covid and felt ill on the day of the reservation. Zero flexibility. Zero customer service. They have just taken the reservation. I travel a lot. I visit a lot of hotels. Many are 4 or 5 star. I very rarely have seen this unhelpful rip off attitude before. Avoid it like the plague.

Dirty with a ZERO food ratin g

The hotel is living of its name. No excuse for dirt on the skirting boards and dado rails. These look like they have not seen a cloth is many a year. A hotel with a ZERO food rating. why is not displayed on the website. We arranged to meet friends for a night away, and was looking forward to our stay. when we arrive, the road to the overflow car park, had a huge pot hole, with many drivers =, going round this on the grass. You can only guess by the size that must have been like this for a while. An outside door, was rotten with huge gaps, and look like it was about to fallout. many windows are in the same condition. This could explain why it was so cold. We had booked a evening meal. I have better offerings at a greasy spoon. The room was clean, but need renovation, a huge damp patch on the ceiling. Breakfast, you have to question the training of the kitchen staff when they cannot even serve a yogurt !!!!. These were FROZEN at the bottom, yes FROZEN, how can you get it this wrong. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

I booked a suite here to take my partner away for a couple of nights. When I booked it in January the website said the suites had bathrobes and slippers in. When we arrived, they don't. That was the least of our disappointments. They had known since I booked that two people would be in the room, but it was made up with one bath towel and one hand towel, I had to phone to request an extra set.The hotel looks tired and in a lot of areas, very run down. The door and door frame to our suite had paint peeling off in large areas. The carpet was thin and grubby. The sofa fabric was grubby. Our room wasn't serviced and when I rang reception I was told I should have requested service! This is supposed to be a four star hotel. I spent my career as an Executive Housekeeper in four and five star hotels and was shocked at the standards here. At breakfast, the plates were cold so by the time you got to your table, breakfast was cold. The only eggs on offer were fried and by 8:15am somewhat rubbery. The only fruit available was tinned prunes and tinned grapefruit segments. The first morning there were no Danish pastries, the second morning there were. Tea and coffee were pre-made in thermal jugs, no herbal teas were available. All in all, a very poor breakfast. Having said that, it makes it all the more difficult to understand why breakfast was so bad when dinner was extremely good! All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful, but the hotel is certainly not worth the money.

Seriously underrated! Beautiful setting surrounded by 30 acres. Peacocks are stunning and let you hand feed them. The room was clean; quiet & comfortable. The food was amazing. I had chilli prawns to start and pork belly for main. Both were 10/10. My girlfriend had Welsh Rarebit & chicken breast & she said it was 10/10 and she’s an experienced chef. Breakfast was lovely too. Lovely helpful staff. Ignore bad reviews. This place is amazing ❤️

Went for a overnight stay in December 2021 Liked · The place itself give you the Wow factor straight away as you drive through the arch to get to the hotel, The staff overall were ok and the room itself was very big. Breakfast was Self serve and you can feast on a full english or ceral. Disliked · The spa section was closed which was a disapointment. considering the price of the room you'd think the owners would renovate the place as it's a lovely castle shame in area the carpets needed cleaning or replacing, most areas need painting also. The room again needed updating not what it advertises "This individually designed room features a modern en suite bathroom and a flat-screen TV" Not sure when it was modern but the bathroom is rundown with paint flaking and mold forming. and the TV is old. the place does offer a evening meal though the prices are high.
