Bem situado, funcionários de uma simpatia fora de serie. Refeição bem cuidada. Muito limpo. Silencioso. Vista bonita, quarto amplo e iluminado. Volto com certeza. Bem servido de transportes. Podemos caminhar e sempre encontramos algum ponto de interesse.

Friendly clean functional hotel

One night stop over . Well positioned hotel for the submarine pens and historic tours. Close to the small beach area. Hotel is a typical Holiday Inn Express. Clean and functional rooms. Staff were really lovely and helpful. There was a strange air fresher smell in the room which is probably a COVID thing but don’t do it IHG. Fresh air is much nicer which you can get by opening the window.

As part of a Battlefield coach trip we stayed at the Holiday Inn whilst studying the raid on St Nazaire. As locations go we could not have asked for more a literal stone’s throw not only from the submarine pens but also a supermarket and plenty of restaurants. You are also a short walk from where the action took place itself. Despite being so close to amenities the hotel was very quiet and you did not hear anything once in our room. In our room we had a wetroom, which I understand from other guests was the exception not the norm. It would indeed be ideal for someone with mobility issues. There was a good sized comfortable bed and a TV with good selection of channels. It was clean, well fitted out and as mentioned, quiet. Breakfast in the morning was a continental affair with plenty of cold meats, bread and cereals. I don’t believe they do evening meals but with plenty of opportunities in the local area this is not an issue. The staff were friendly and also spoke good English. Very much enjoyed our short stay there.

Room 207 quiet, clean and warm. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Nice toothbrush and toothpaste kit, shower cap and slippers along with some sweets. There was also a nail file and some ear buds. Soap dispenser by the sink. TV with some English speaking channels. We found the shower wet the whole bathroom floor like it wasn't draining fast enough. It's one of those wet rooms for disabled customers. We ordered pizza for evening meal. It was microwaved... Struggled to cut the pizza the base was like rock. Chips were ok. Cappuccino was just half a cup. We had some free pastries on arrival. Breakfast is the usual Holiday Inn Express style... Continental, help yourself. We both had aching backs after a nights sleep and didn't consider the beds comfortable at all. This was our third hotel and we hadn't had issues with beds in other hotels. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Plenty parking alongside the hotel which cost just a couple of Euros on departure. There are ample sockets and reading lights beside the standard double bed.

We had a great time at the Holiday Inn Express Saint Nazaire. We chose the hotel based on its location and the fact that it had connecting rooms for our family, and our experience there from start to finish was excellent! Super friendly staff, from the check-in receptionists, to the breakfast servers and cleaners- the hotel is pleasant, modern and has everything you need. Location is great, opposite the submarine pens and a short walk to the beach and into town. Affordable secure parking is underground, you do need to book ahead (I didn't know this but they fitted us in from the second night). Bit pricey for a family needing two rooms, but we did book last minute in the middle of August- maybe Holiday Inn could do something like Novotel where the second room is half price for families? Thank you for a lovely time, it was a great break and perfect end to our holiday!
