Great value for a stopover

We find this Campanile a very convenient place to stay overnight when travelling through France to and from the Channel tunnel. The reception staff are very helpful and welcoming and accommodate requests wherever possible. The rooms are accessible outside from the car park, which we find convenient. Breakfast was plentiful and very good.

Very clean hotel

We spent 2 nights here and it is a very dog-friendly hotel. The manager spoke good english and made us very welcome. We were on the first floor up a flight of stairs, but the room was very clean and comfortable. There was no air-conditioning, but the window opened with a secure fastening and the room was never too hot. There was a lovely garden area at the rear of reception where we enjoyed a refreshing 'bierre' on a warm afternoon. Housekeeping was faultless and our room was pristine when we returned after the first day out.

Prison Campanile
Avaliou em 27 de dezembro de 2020
Like all other Campanile Hotels that I have stayed in France, this was a cell-like room with rough walls and with few facilities. The bedside tables are 20cm wide and it is not possible to walk normally between the bed and the adjacent wall on one side of the double bed. Booked for two adults only one bath towel was provided (a second was freely given on request). For some reason, allegedly due to Covid, the kettle and "hospitality tray" had been removed. The bed was comfortable but only two very small pillows were provided. The restaurant was closed due to Covid. It really was how one imagines a prison cell in size but with a key! It was more expensive than a UK Premier Inn but does not compare. If all you want to do is sleep and go then it's OK but I don't want to imagine what the adjacent Première Classe Hotel, which is even more basic, provides in terms of room size and facilities. The restaurants at Campanile - open in normal times - sell themselves as gourmet but are just not. The food they do provide is almost as basic as one can imagine. It's quite sad, really, because fifteen years ago the food was OK - the rooms are described as "New Generation" but haven't really changed except the bedside lights are a little better. On a positive note, the free WiFi is quite good. The hotel is on an Industrial estate.

Convenient

The rooms are very dated, but clean. There's not much storage space, but for a quick stop this hotel is adequate. Also there is a paucity of tea and coffee and milk in the rooms, plus nasty plastic cups. Breakfast buffet is excellent - no need to go hungry before you leave. Same with the evening meal where you can stick with the buffet choices or add on with the day's menu. Tip -avoid the chicken pasta for two - it just doesn't work.

Booked this hotel as it had good reviews and convenient, I arrived late which I put on the booking, to find no one there, the reception door locked and the 24/7 self check in machine off and not working, after knocking and ringing for two hours I ended up staying in my truck, the place advertises 24 hour check in???? Not happy and will not be recommending or using this company again!
