We recently stayed at this Shilo(Jan.30th,2020) and had a beautiful experience. The room was so spacious ,clean and accommodating for our needs....It was newly remodeled, both queen beds so comfortable...wet bar with fridge. Microwave and sink greatly appreciated! The pool and jacuzzi indoors was also an added pleasure..... The staff were friendly!!! We'll definitely come back when staying in Salem
Clean room
Yes the room was clean, but sound from guests on the floor above was very clear...squeaky floor. Unfortunately, there was a bus-load of kids up there and they lasted well into the night. We should have said something, but were too tired to move and found sleep in between squeaks. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was..."free," so can't complain. Pricy for the accommodations.
I don't see a problem.
Got a very nice suite at a ridiculously good price. About half what that room would have cost anywhere else. The room was clean, and everything worked they way it was supposed to. Slept great, and woke up feeling like I had slept well. What else is there to ask for? The breakfast is a bit on the lower end of the scale, but we were meeting a friend for breakfast anyway, so that really wasn't an issue. I also don't see what the problem is with the neighborhood. Everything seemed to be pretty squared away, especially for a city this size. I think sometimes people whine for the sake of whining. We come to Salem fairly often, and I intend to stay here again.
4 bones???? No! Not more than 1 or 2
I would barely give this 2 bones. It is close to the freeway and the dog room wasn't carpeted, which I think is a very good move, But...Very old, not the cleanest, poor dog space, scary neighborhood. Not sure how it got 4 bones. Woman at front desk nice but usually outside smoking. I couldn't wait to leave.
Just wouldn’t recommend this hotel
Big sign stating newly renovated. The first room had such a strong oder of bleach it made our eyes water. They graciously changed rooms for us but the sheets and pillow cases were stained. I do believe they were clean but in this business stained sheets just is not acceptable. It also boasts the slowest elevator we have ever used anywhere. The rate is reasonable but better off spending a few extra dollars and move on up.
