Hotel muito bonito de estilo Palacete com umas vistas espetaculares. Tamanho dos quartos e pequeno almoço normais. Pena estar bastante estragado, necessita de obras e remodelação dos quartos urgentemente!
Could be so much better
This is a shame because the core of the building is old and quaint but it is in desperate need of upgrading everywhere you look. So much so in fact there are notices in the room apologising for the need to refurbish. A shame it didn’t say that on their website and it wasn’t reflected in their price! Staff were generally unhelpful, the receptionists didn’t want to know about anything. The waiter was trying to run the bar and the restaurant. Woefully understaffed. If you are understaffed shut one of the bar areas! Breakfast was pretty farcical as stuff left out too long and some had gone cold. We had to ask for things and the toaster is completely useless. Carpark is was good and dog friendly too. Food in the restaurant was brilliant and the Chef needs complimenting. We did not enjoy the local area, felt run down. Very expensive for what it is offering.
Run down outdated and poor service
We stayed here overnight as we had a major flight delay in Barcelona. From the photos online it looked great for the price. Too good to be true! The hotel is under construction and they are very understaffed. To get a cup of coffee, a beer, or even a water was a chore. It would take asking multiple people if they could get us a beer and a water. No one was ever at “the bar” and when you did find someone, they had to go find someone else. They were completely focused on setting up for weddings and the hotel seems more like just a banquet hall. We felt like we were invisible. Our room was another story. It was cramped and awkward. We had a random cot in our room which we didn’t ask for, and it blocked both the bathroom door and the patio door shutters. The furniture was run down and had holes in it. Our bed was two twin cots pushed together. Our “patio” was nearly laughable. We had a broken fence and AstroTurf on our patio. The chairs were falling apart. Actually, there was AstroTurf everywhere around the hotel. Nothing like the pictures showed online. I would never stay here again, not worth the money. I would’ve paid double to stay closer to the airport as it’s a 30€ taxi each way to get to the hotel anyway. It had potential with the views and the history of the castle. It just needs major renovation and new management.
If you want mediocrity then choose this place
We were given a room where the fridge didn't work, the bathtub had peeling enamel and was in a need of a good clean and an update would not go amiss. As part of the package we had booked we were given a discount to General Güell's however when we got there the staff said these were no good another disappointment as this was why we booked the hotel. We paid the fee and enjoyed ourselves. When we returned to the hotel and told them that the tickets were not honored at General Güell there was no indication they cared and the person at reception didn't not seem surprised. When we left after 2 night i was surprised we got the discount from the hotel which we missed at the general Güell so that was a plus, the breakfast at the hotel was good and therefore I scored the place average else it would have been lower.
Vacation in Barcelona
We were 2 families with children, booked 4 rooms at the hotel. Rooms very old not as expected or shown on the pictures. Very poor breakfast, food at the terrace is horrible, I guess they should think of changing the cook, we ordered 2 times burgers for the kids and 2 times came horrible, zero quality and taste. The only thing that can pass is the french fries and beer, anything else you wish to order think about it twice. The hotel needs full renovation, at the kids rooms, ants are everywhere. The only thing that was positive at this hotel was the nice view at the terrace and front desk staff, they were friendly and very helpful. House keeping didn’t change the bed sheets for 6 days, so we had to say it out loud to do it.
